I would think all of Scott Petersens property is a crime scene, until after the trial. Why doesn't Laci's family just wait? By (Cali) law (if I recall), if she dies - which she did, it goes to the husband; but if he is on trial and THEN convicted of her murder, and she died without a Will, it would go to the courts to decide, who would give the stuff, most likely, to his and her families to divide. But if he is acquitted, then he keeps everything. And if he is acquitted, it would be obvious he would give Maci's family anything they wanted of hers. Maybe TF or OPH know for certain..
