I've been out of town since last Thursday, so I was very sorry to hear about Joel's accident and now that he has passed away. My prayers and condolences go out to his family and friends. Joel will be missed by all.
I'm pinging the DC Chapter Ping List to alert others who met him in January of your sad news about Joel.

I am so sorry.
I only met and saw Joel in action at the Feb. Patriot Rally, and he leaves me with the image of him in his uniform ---still fighting the good fight.
For his soul and his wife and his family, I will offer a prayer of thanks for this fine man.

Thanks for updating us all with this sad news. I've learned a lot about him from various websites. (just Google his name) He was a true patriot, the fact that this accident happened on Memorial Day Weekend.... I had the honor of meeting a few Vietnam vets at the Traveling Wall (scaled down version of DC wall that travels the country) that came to CT a few wks ago.
Thank you for your service to our country, you are in God's arms now. Peace to the Kernodle family.
