In the timespan of twenty years, the Brits did acheive their objective of driving out the Boers from South Africa, I call that a Victory. Similiarily, Britain's wars a against India, all of three of them, resulted eventually in India's colonization, but the first two were failures. Still, it does not change the end result of the conflicts.

The Netherlands and England were both great maritime nations and it was inevitable that a conflict would arise between then. There were three Anglo-Dutch Wars. The first from 1652 to 1654, the second from 1664 to 1667 and the third from 1672-1674. It was the end of the second war that gave the British New Amsterdam (which became, of course, New York). The Third Anglo-Dutch War was part of the Franco-Dutch War (1672-1674), waged by Louis XIV of France who sought control of the Spanish Netherlands.
First two British won, last British/French alliance defeated by Netherlands/Spanish alliance.

But if you look over long period why not look even longer where Britian not in India now? In that Britian lost. Each war must be taken seperate in this case not clumped into trends...historic trends not time line or accounting of wars.

Not correct, Novograd never fell to Mongols Novograd was not physically destroyed, but it did pay tribute for to the mongols for the next 200 years after the war. So I coun't that as a loss

1854 AD Crimean War- Lost Britain wins a land war against Russia and takes over the Crimean region and Svestapol from the Russian EmpireNot lost not won...draw. Treaty signed so Tsar gives up land in Balkins to Ottomans. Svestapol was British occupied not taken. Returned with peace.

Wars in rapid succession, one after the other, against a common enemy can be lumped in as tactics of a greater war. Ex. Napoleonic wars. But political and other non-military trends, such as Ghandi's non-violence movement that liberated India from Britain, cannot be lumped into any sequence of wars.

1938 AD World War II- Won 37 million Russian dead versus 8 million German dead. Russia takes control of Eastern Europe, East Germany Not true. 20 million civilians killed by German, 8 million Russian troops killed vs 6 million German troops....unknown German civilians casualties...but much less since we did not exterminate them.

Program on the History Channel the other night stated that Novogrod was destroyed by the Huns. Don't remember which invasion it was but right before Muscovy rose to dominance.

(RATS will use any means to denigrate George Bush's Victory.)

You forgot to include those not killed by the Germans. You know, deaths from starvation, disease, Stalin's purges even during WWII.

1922 British defeated in Ireland...Irish independence.

Huns came in 3-4th centuary, before Russ state created. Attila Hun attacked into W. Roman Empire (which ended in 7th centuary). Mongols come in 1200s. History channel needs to read some history. Maybe proto-Novogrod settlement, but not Novograd. Huns, after Attila absorbed by Magyars...present day Hungarians. Slavic tribes move into present day Russia in 5th and 6th centuary from Bohemia/Slovakia/Balkins region.

That was not even a war! A series of bombings by individuals is not a war.

Stalin's purges from late 1920s to early 1950s, shall we say WW2 cira 1922-1954, when Stalin died?

It won independence. Jews did same in their struggle. Irish consider it fight for independence. If you say this then Vietnam not war, since mosly bombings and ambushes not standing fight. It called guerrilla war.

20 million civilians killed+8 million soldiers killed+ # of civilians dying from starvation+# of civilians dying from disease+ # of solders and civilians purged by stalin from 1939 to 1945 = around 37 million by average estimates.

The big difference is what happened to the language. Very little Celtic language remains from prior to the Anglo-Saxon invasion. Yet, after the Norman invasion, English maintained its place as a spoken language. There were changes to the language, but English was not replaced by French-Norman as Anglo-Saxon (old English) replaced the earlier Celtic.

20 million counts disease and starvation and mass German executions. Germans often starved victems...easier then shoot. Average estimates 28-30 million, few purges during war...most old generals reinstated to fight.

It called guerrilla war. Well for most of the war it was called a police action, but I think the Tet offensive more than anything defined that conflict as a general war.

I was not talking about deaths directly attributed to Germany. I'm talking about people away from the front who died simply due to lack of food and medicine. And yes, millions where purged even during WWII.
