I think such polls are pretty stupid. I think polls in general are basically dishonest (all depends on how you ask the questions). But this:
among Republicans, Clinton received only two percent backing
Sorry. I cannot imagine a "Republican" saying "Bill Clinton was the greatest president this country ever had." Not even 2 percent.

Roughly 40% of America votes Dem, 40% Rep, and 20% Ind. If the poll was not formed with 40% of the respondents being Rep to begin with, it was a faulty poll. I doubt if the basis of the poll was anything other than Gallup's usual Dem-heavy base.

" I cannot imagine a "Republican" saying "Bill Clinton was the greatest president this country ever had." Think McCain and Snow.

I cannot imagine a "Republican" saying "Bill Clinton was the greatest president this country ever had." Not even 2 percent.2% could have been as little as a single vote. We don't know how big the "sample" was for this poll. I'm imagining a single hard-of-hearing, self-identified conservative who responded with "Bill Clinton" because they misunderstood the question.

The Republican who voted for Bill Clinton must be the "Republicans" who phone in to C-SPAN.
