Religion of peace alert. They have the whole bible story backwords. This religion wasn't started until 700 AD, yet they claim kinship with Abraham. And just think, I'm a Roman Catholic aware of this stuff.
You're not fooling anyone, you know!
Religion of peace alert! NOT!

There is a Lutheran Church in my area that is actively reaching out to convert the large Muslim population in the neighborhood. I wish them the best of luck.

"the new hostility to Islam and, in particular, the insults to the prophet Muhammad have outraged the Muslim world"Have the countless terrorist/murder/suicide attacks by Muslims in the name of Islam, notably the September 11, 2001, massacre in America, not "outraged the Muslims world"?
Was the commission of these evil acts in the name of Islam not considered supremely blasphemous? Has such profound blasphemy not "outraged the Muslim world"?
Do Muslims not feel that "their honor has been insulted" by the Muslims who have committed these unspeakably evil acts in the name of Islam?

Agreed, it sounds their rage may be a bit selective.
The Muslim world has been outraged by varying degrees for the past say ooooooooh 1400 years or so. I find it a little disingenuous when I hear how Falwell, Graham, Vines, Robertson et al are suddenly enraging the otherwise peaceful Muslim world.

"Muslims who may have been open to the missionaries' presence feel their honor has been insulted. "
EVERYTHING "Offends" these islamic pricks.
They are experts at simultaneously combining the roles of "victim" "violent perpetrator" and "hotheaded idiots."
They NEED to be offended. Their offal religion is an insult to all that is reasonable... Their violence and hatred, mixed with ignorant intolerance knows NO bounds... and it needs to find them... FAST.
I cannot think of a better way than massive confrontation of the religious lie that = islam.
Islam is not truth.. it is a lying religion for lying murderors in search of a pliable ideology that will justify their violent, hateful tendencies.

Evangelicals have always believed that all other religions are wrong, but what is notable now is the vituperation.Nonsense.
Evangelicals dislike the notion of religion in general, emphasizing inwardly experienced faith as opposed to outwardly observed practice. (Of course, they're not gonna repudiate all practice, or they wouldn't be an identifiable group, would they?)
If this is new, then you might as well expect a major Western religious leader to go and kiss the Koran/Qu'ran . . .
Never mind.

I cannot think of a better way than massive confrontation of the religious lie that = islam. Yes, and Wahhabi Islamics never thought of conversion by Christians, they thought it would be the other way around.

"
The students, scribbling notes, included two pastors, a school secretary and college students who said they hoped to convert Muslims in the United States, or on mission trips abroad."
Be sure to update that will before you leave......

For all the followers of Mohammed out there, in post 9/11 days, I view everyone, and I mean every single person, who converts to Islam as my enemy.

Anything that works to take them away from this violent false religion is a good thing, but I have a feeling that insults will just make some of them more firm in their misguided beliefs.
Just not sure what the answer is, I'm hoping that defeat of Islam in the Arab world will show the rest of the Islamists that fighting the West has only one consequence.

I think you are right about them being offended, but there comes a point where the only way to deal with them and get your point across is be bold, tip toeing through the tulips won't work in most discussions I have had with the muslims. Their faith is so whacked out it may take a little shock to make them consider your words. I can't even get them to say, hey, I don't want to live like this, can't even look in their hearts and make a choice because their oppression and brainwashing is so widespread. I have better luck with the muslim youth.

"Historians note that enmity between Christianity and Islam dates as far back as the Crusades, the fall of Byzantium and the reconquest of Spain. " Why do we have such ignorant "historians"?
When Muhammed put the Jews and Chrstians to the sword in Mecca and Medina, there was no enmity??? Everybody was happy on that day????
Why is the "reconquest" of Spain cited as an origin of '"enmity," but the bloody conquest of Spain is ignored?
To: Pokey78
But although the teacher, an evangelical preacher from Beirut, stressed the need to avoid offending Muslims, he projected a snappy PowerPoint presentation showing passages from the Koran that he said proved Islam was regressive, fraudulent and violent.
Seeing as this guy's from Beirut, maybe he knows what he's talking about.

Some of what he taught would be accepted by most theologians: Muslims reject the Christian concept of a Trinitarian God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. Muslims respect Jesus as a prophet, but do not accept the Christian belief that he is the son of God. Related thread:

"Now, he said, the new hostility to Islam and, in particular, the insults to the prophet Muhammad have outraged the Muslim world." Wow, they must have said some really bad things to get the Muslim world outraged.
We all know how laid-back and forgiving the Muslim world is!
I had better mark my calendar, since outrage is so rare in the Muslim world.

It would seem that anyone with any reasonable sense could see that someone is a liar here. Is Jesus the liar, or is it Muhammed, the man who wrote the Koran without a single witness that an angel came and gave him the words?

"Consider the following. If you say something negative about Joseph Smith or Brigham Young, the Mormons won't threaten to kill you. If you malign Moses, Orthodox rabbis won't issue a fatwah against you. If you insult Jesus, in a painting or play, you're likely to get a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. It's only the apostles of the Religion of Peace who are ready to whack you for looking cross-eyed at their beloved prophet."---Don Feder, Religion of Peace Watch, October 28, 2002.
