I am a soldier in Iraq. I wanted to say thank you to all of the subscribers for helping with troop morale while we are over here. I would like to give a specail thanks to snippyaboutit for sending me goodies and words of encouragement.

I'm sure Karl will be appreciative of all the thanks everyone from Free Republic is sending.

Karl's unit is a heavy weapons infantry unit and they left for Iraq on G5.(Ground war day 5.) He has been in Iraq since March 25 seldome getting showers or hot food. He doesn't have hot food but since about 2 weeks ago he has sent us e-mails.

Even now he cannot speak about his duties or what he did in the war effort.

Thank you for your kind words cherry. Our troops make it easy and we are blessed to be able to do what we can. Many freepers join me in supporting our Armed Services and I am just doubly blessed that Karl would go to the trouble to mention me.

Thanks, Karl's Dad; your family must be very proud!! And all of us here at FreeRepublic are proud also, along with the BIG majority of the country that supports our military. It was so great of Karl to write and thank others; when it's we who should thank HIM and his fellow service guys/gals. We're praying for everyone's safe return.
