[history]
Gov. Gray Davis, chastising a Republican congressman funding an effort to oust him from office, said Tuesday that the recall movement against him is a misplaced use of the constitutional replacement procedure. In an interview with The Bee editorial board, Davis said Rep. Darrell Issa is simply seeking an easy path to the Governor's Office without adequate grounds for a recall.

(Recall Gray Davis and then start on the other Democrats)
To: Texas Eagle
The recall can't used to remove incompetent officials guilty of mismanaging the state's affairs? Yeah right. I'm sure Hiram Johnson and the Progressive reformers didn't foresee that one when they gave Californians the tools of direct democracy in 1911.

We shouldn't let someone off the hook -- Gray Davis
Amen to that -- Gray Davis calling for his own removal from office.

This whole affair is terribly misguided. There is a silver lining though. Larry Elder might run and mix up the mix. Larry is doomed probably to failure, but the stimulation will not be in vain.

KTKZ Radio talk show host Eric Hogue brilliantly pointed out the use of the word "beseech" that the author used. A word normally used in a religious context.
But then, isn't Gov. Doofus high priest to the flock of Liberal newsies that make up the most zealous followers in his congregation?

Elder offers something far more than just another libertarian nutter. That is why getting his message out on the big stage has value in and of itself. It will tend to make folks think a bit. And that is good.

While California's numbers are the largest, Davis has repeatedly noted that tumbling stocks and a weak national economy this year have handed states their worst collective financial crisis since World War II. "I feel confident that people are not going to buy into (a recall)," Davis said. "Everyone knows these are difficult times." Positively Jeemyesque
To: Texas Eagle
"A recall is supposed to be for some abuse of office -- 'Something outrageous has happened and we have to recall him,' " Davis said. "It shouldn't just be, 'Oh I want to be governor, here's a cheap way for me to go in the back door rather than to go in the front door like everyone else.' "...gee, governor how is it about squandering an excess of $30 Billions black numbers from the "wascally Pete Wilson, when you were elected , not to mentioned the next $35 Billions red numbers, you are trying to saddle us by taxing the living day light out the regular Joe.
Mr. Low Beam, you should fire all the 40,000 new State pay roll new leaches, you hired during YOUR tenure in Sacramento, in the first term of your sorry ass dictatorship.(i am surprised that, I still can express my own toughts, without interference from Democrat led and owned both Chambers in Sacramento.)
Mr. Low Beam, you are so pathetic,in your misguided proposed spending cuts, that the only spending cuts you are proposing is in the Police Force,Fire Department, Schools etc.,...but your constituency, of 40,000 new leaches will feel no cuts and/or no heat.
And,...you Mr.Low Beam, are wondering why the recall and Darryl Issa's sponsorship?

Awwwwwww...
Let him stay in ... 'cause the longer he's there, doing damage to California, the better the real estate business here on the Olympic Peninsula is for my wife. Economic refugees from California are becoming more and more common. Now that the Assembly is completely out of control, even out of the control of the lobbyists, businesses will be pulling up stakes for greener pastures.
...And all that's great for economic development in neighboring states...
Any Californians ready to move? We've got plenty of room up here!

Pity that except in Squim or whatever the name is in the rain shadow, the climate sucks most of the time.

Just another myth...we live in Port Townsend, and get nearly 19" of rain a year. We don't need air conditioning or snow shovels. Not a bad climate, so far as I'm concerned.

"I think it's fair to ask everyone, 'What are you doing to contribute to the solution of this immense problem?' Davis said."
A good question, governor. My answer is, "I'm contributing my efforts to remove your sleazy corrupt butt from office!"
