Schwarzkopf denigrated special forces as "snake eaters."
That's not an insult, that's what SpecOps people call themselves. It came from having to cook and eat a snake during jungle training back in the old days. It's also why a bottle of Tabasco sauce was always in the packing list for the rucksack. PS MRE's haven't gotten any better, they're just more edible now because each accessory pack has a tiny little bottle of Tabasco.

Tailback,
Never tried the Tabasco Camo, but if you want some good eatin' just grab a P38, some C-Rats, a small hunk of C4 and a lighter. Then enjoy. The best Rats was one with the brown meat-like substance in the coagulated gravy. Mmmmmmm. I think the tabasco would hide the natural flavor of this dish.

There's an article about the bribes to Iraqi generals in the Marine Corps Times 5/26 issue-- I'm sure CIA was involved also, but so was the military. Very interesting.

President Bush and General Franks are from Midland, Texas. Compare that with what Arkansas produced!

Compare that with what Arkansas produced! Yes! Let's COMPARE and CONTRAST the current administration with the previous one, shall we? . . .
Compare President Bushs magazine cover to clintoon's magazine cover:
i got away wif murder, rape and
obstruction ov justice. . .

Yep, me and Sweet Thang are pretty excited about it, bro. The work is great, the pay is great, the location is-- well, high up there but I'll hack and cough my way through it... That, or get an oxygen tank... ;) Purty country they got there. I already found the Harley dealership in Albuquerque...

With the Franks plan, American forces repeatedly achieved tactical surprise
in the war, notably when American, British, and Australian special forces
from Jordan captured Iraq's Scud missile sites in western Iraq
two days before the larger war began. Iraqi defenders there
"didn't have a lot of time to be caught by surprise because we killed them," Franks said...
Wow!
I haven't heard this before.
And as a previous poster said...explains why Dubya could make that 48-hour
"Get Out Of Iraq" offer to Saddam...and not loser any sleep in those 48 hours!
As I tell friends who (reasonably) go a bit "wobbly" when Dubya does something that
Democrats or The New York Times would call "risky"...I tell them "Dubya generally doesn't
make a threat he doesn't already know he can follow through on..."
I hope the Democrats don't figure this out before the next election.
Their constant "mis-underestimation" of Dubya's "strategery" is part
of Dubya's continuing "shock and awe" for these folks.
And even for me!
