I'd LOVE to have a second home in New MexicoWell you better believe if we get situated up in there, you and Ming got an automatic standing invite to come crash on the couch, bro... Prob'ly won't see much of me, doing the pocket-protector thing and whatnot, but if Sweet Thang is there (finishing up school so short-range plans uncertain) at least the house will be clean... (S.T., my favorite kitchen appliance, is much more gifted in domestic areas than I, and for that I thank the gods. ;)

Been away on a long weekend. Thanks for the ping! Amazing how two major government figures grew up in a small Texas town, and didn't even know each other!

I may be the only naysayer on this thread but I think this article is hype and kinda funny. Franks ain't Patton. Patton faced superior enemy tanks and better trained troops and still pushed farther and faster than any commander in the history of mechanized war. Franks faced a pathetic nation with outdated equipment, troops less than willing to fight, and defenses that barely existed. His enemey was "blind" to our movements while we had eyes in the sky that could see troop movements at real time. We also had total air superiority- something we didn't enjoy even at D-Day. Not to be harsh- but any commander could have pulled this victory off.
