Those who miss the cut get nothing. 0% of $5,000,000 is still $0.

The LPGAs best by a mile, when flawless, can barely compete at a course suited for her. Who will be able to watch the LPGA anymore?
I think this has been great entertainment and I still believe somehow or another she'll make the cut (tin foil alert). The butche's on the LPGA just lost a huge pct of their viewership though.

Bumping the MOE NORMAN link in #15.
A great read. ;^)

Me too. I just don't think she belongs out there in the first place.I know what you mean, If she wants to play the PGA tour, and she is good enough to do OK at certain venues, she should qualify.
But watching her yesterday, the politics of the situation were overshadowed by my appreciation as a hacker of just how well she played under trying circumstances.
I think she struck it about as well as she could and for that she has my admiration.

Ewing...please don't post Annika pics. I want to remember her look of old and fantasize. I can't take this new steroid look.

Thanks for the math lesson.
My point is that the purse for this event is worth almost as much to the winner as an entire year's of winnings on the LPGA.

After listening to the Calcaveccia interview after he finished I'd say they aren't too happy about this distraction. Calcavecchia has always been kind of a grumpy a**hole on tour, even though he's a very good player. If he's crying in his beer, I'm delighted.

so you can knock them down and try to prove your superiority. I do not need to "prove my seniority." It is self-evident. The seven other exemptions all have a competitve chance in this tournament. She does not. We knew this going in, and she has done nothing to dispel this notion.
And the fact that political correctness has blinded you to the point where people like you would waste time trying to prove otherwise is an indication how screwed up we have gotten in this country.
She hand picked the course, the PGA made it as easy for her as possible (lowest projected cut ever - playing partners - starting time and position) and she still can't hack it.
You don't get it. I am not rooting against her. In fact I probably will be more impressed than you if she makes the cut, because I will understand the enormity of her accomplishment, while you continue to make light of it.

My point is that the purse for this event is worth almost as much to the winner as an entire year's of winnings on the LPGA. The difference is certainly related to sponsor money and most importantly TV money. Believe it or not, PGA Golf gets high ratings on the weekends. LPGA golf is hardly watched on TV. It's basically comes down to business, sales, capitalism, demand, etc. as I'm sure you know.

Why not be a man like most of her other doubters and say "Wow, she did a really good job. I was wrong." rather than continue to rant and rave about how she doesn't belong and how she can't win. Because prettyidiotic9 is a sneering little troll & keyboard commando. ;-)

Sabbatini stumbles to -4, now tied for second. Appears to be falling apart. Exactly. That's how you WIN golf tournaments. You take risks, and sometimes they pay off. But mostly they don't.

Thanks for the Annika picts! She's a cutie, no doubt!
Yep, Calc said that she did good for her first time but she didn't have a chance at competing..
**correction** I miswrote above about Calc - he's always been a real p***k on tour.

What would the PGA Tour do if she finsihes 2nd and earns a automatic 2004 tour card for next year? File lawsuits perhaps..

Sorenstam won $2,800,000 last year on the LPGA Tour. She doing just fine.
And she showed yesterday that she could never win on the men's Tour.
