Uday, Oprah It's a bad, bad, day, for Uday, you could say.
Give him one year US prison (in Iraq), then on to the new Iraqi court system for a brief stay.

One question. Where's daddy?
To: demlosers
No need for a death sentence from us.
First we interogate for about 2 years. Make him listen to lots of "Barney" and spill his guts. Then turn him over to an Iraqi Court for final disposition.

The process is this: he surrenders...he sits in damp, cockroach infested cell for a few weeks...he gets a 2-hour trial...his body parts meet Mr. Guillotine, one by one.

No, no, no...surely we couldn't have bombed all the plastic shredders they used to chip up their political enemies. Genuine justice demands that he be dispatched exactly as he dispatched others...and make sure he goes in feet first. I'm sure he still has those knee-slapping videos they made at such events to guide us as to the proper procedure.
To: doosee
All he needs to do now is hire Mark Geragos and Johnny Cochran to defend him on an insanity plea...... I hope they do acquit him, and set him free. In downtown Baghdad.
Vegas odds on him making it until sundown would be, say, a gozillion to one?
To: Mensch
No doubt he's losing what's left of his mind. Probably hiding out in some dank sewer of a place, jumping at every little noise. Can't see the light of day, no silk sheets...... SpecOps is coming for you Uday, please don't surrender.
To: kittymyrib
Bingo. We MIGHT even let him choose his method of extinction from those videos, eh? Maybe....if we feel like it....unless the Iraqi victims can think improve on it.....
To: Mensch
Give him to the Iraqi people that he tormented and let THEM return to him an equal measure of the new Iraqi justice.
Seems I remember hearing something about the regime puting their "enemies" into chipper/shredders feet first. Then there's the ever popular Crane-used-as-a-gallows-in-the-parking-lot routine...
To: Jemian
You can't surrender when you're dead. Basic law of the universe. Fundemental, of course. And, I might add, against the laws of mathematics. Oops, there's another charge for poor Uday.

Uday is surrendering so he can meet a death sentence. I dont think so
surrenders always involve negotiation, and the death sentence is always the first thing negotiated away.

"suburban Baghdad, the person familiar with Uday's surrender discussions said he has been told by a Saddam relative." Why are they still alive?

Uday Hussein set to surrender
Excerpt:
NEW YORK -- Saddam Hussein's eldest son, Uday, is considering surrendering to U.S. forces, but so far has been reluctant to do so because of a tough negotiating posture by the U.S. government, a third party with knowledge of the discussions told The Wall Street Journal.
U.S. officials in Washington had no comment. Uday Hussein, who is hiding in a Baghdad, Iraq, suburb, wants to know what the charges against him will be, and the process for interrogation and custody, the person familiar with the discussions said. He is working through intermediaries. U.S. officials don't seem especially interested in cutting a deal, because they assume Uday will be caught sooner or later, the person said.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.
