Forty-three percent of African-American families are headed by single women, 48 percent by married couples. By comparison, 13 percent of white families are headed by women, 82 percent by married couples.

This is the telling statistic. In spite of the incredibly high black abortion rate, there are a lot of young teens getting knocked up by black men. Part of it comes from decades of calling them b--ches and hoes, part of it comes from a complete disconnect from any religious values, and the economic component came from the Great Society, where Uncle Sam promised to be the breadwinner for the welfare orphans. Tragic for blacks and the whole nation.

In spite of? "Largely because of" makes more sense. Give boys/"men" an easy out and they will take it.

Oh, you mean baby born, not just knocked up as in sex alone. Still if abortion is easy, the boy/"man" will be less reluctant to do that, thinking (or hoping) that she can just trash the unborn with the garbage. Sick.

I'm curious what the figures are for other "protected status" minorities such as American Indian and Hispanic.

I maintain this statement is not factually correct. A large percentage of this 43% is headed by grandmothers.

The girls pop out a kid and the grand mother raises it. The grandmothers fend off the young bucks from direct family participation until age has mellowed and responsibility begins to take hold.

Remember also, it is the responsibility of the village to contribute to the maintenance of the grandmother.

Actually calling black women, indeed any women, "bitches" or "hoes" in a general and individual sense(as opposed to talking about women of truly low character or actual prostitutes,) is a relatively new phenomenon. I'd say the development of the misogynist attitude in that subculture is a result of young men being trained to NOT respect women.

After all, though James may love his mama, he also carries a lot of resentment for the life she put him through and her own actions often resemble a lack of maturity. In time, after being punished for his whole life because mama didn't like his daddy, he starts to hate women, all the while proclaiming his great love for his mama.

That's my take on it, anyway.
