Christian Evangelist Stabbed To Death
A Christian evangelist may have become Bangladeshs first modern martyr, following an attack by at least seven Muslim extremists armed with knives.
According to the Barnabas Fund, in the early morning hours of April 24, Hridoy Roy was returning home after showing the Jesus Film, a movie version of Lukes Gospel. As Roy approached his house seven or eight people attacked him, stabbing him seven times. He died instantly.
Roy was a Bangladeshi evangelist and frequently used the Jesus Film as an evangelistic tool. Officials from the Barnabas Fund say local believers fear that Roys martyrdom will not be the last. They are mourning the loss and are in a state of great shock and fear following the attack.
In Islamic (or Shariah) law, conversion from Islam to another faith can result in death. Converts who are not killed often lose their families, are beaten and have their possessions taken away from them.
As a statement from the Barnabas Fund commented, This (Shariah law) is the fundamental reason for the antipathy that most Muslims hold towards those who try to proselytize in their communities. It goes a long way towards explaining why they are sometimes willing to take such draconian measures to make sure that none of their community will be corrupted.
Barnabas Fund officials are asking that believers worldwide pray for the Lords presence, as well as comfort, love and support for Roys family at this devastating time.
In addition, they are asking Christians to pray for protection and encouragement for other believers and workers in Bangladesh (many of whom have ministries in dangerous areas), and that the apostasy law would be quickly changed.
Perhaps your basic assumption is a bit off?
The Muslims you've met are in America, where they compose only six percent of the population. When they compose over sixty percent of the population, that's when the horrors begin.
You mean kind of like on 9/11?
How would you really know whether they are truly good people? Their Koran teaches them it is OK, in fact necessary, to lie to infidels. This country has previously legally persecuted certain religious sects for far less than islam has done, I say it's high time we applied common sense to this murderous cult and remove them from our civilized society.
Man, how do you know if anyone you meet is a good person? They work hard, they laugh at all the right jokes, and they act like nice frigging people.
Their Koran teaches them it is OK, in fact necessary, to lie to infidels.
It also teaches hospitality to friends, committment to family, and tolerance for "People of the Book" (Jews and Xians). Being an Athiest, I'm technically more at risk then your average American
This country has previously legally persecuted certain religious sects for far less than islam has done, I say it's high time we applied common sense to this murderous cult and remove them from our civilized society.
Yes, and the fact that we haven't speaks volumes about how far we've come as a society.
But since you mention it, where exactly do you suggest we remove them to? And what would we do about the ones that are already American citizens?
Possibly, but the situation is so hypothetical and far off that nobody can say what exactly will happen.
Bear in mind that people used to say the same thing about Catholics.
I sympathize with your comments. I know people who call themselves muslims who are moral, upright folks - who genuinely have (I believe) what the world would consider to be a 'good heart'. And hypothetically speaking I'm sure there must be people who call themselves christians who are 'creeps'.
But ... what does their religion teach? What do their 'books' say? What do the historical records say about their founder?
Aye ... there's the rub.
Non-practicing, 'in-name-only', muslims are harmeless. The problem is that their 'inspired' words (and I believe Anne Coulter was spot on when she pointed out who 'inspired' these words) tell them to destroy the infidels (meaning you and I).
Its by the grace of God that most muslims don't take their religion seriously/literally. Those that do are a danger to our country - and to ignore this fact is to bury one's head into the sand.
What would I do? I'd think it would be very fair to request/demand muslims in this country to repudiate those passages that tell them to destroy the infidel. Of course that ignores the fact that their book also tells them it is OK to lie to the infidel ... but at its a start.
What do you mean? The situation happens in every country today where Muslims form a majority. It happened in the streets of Bangladesh, where an unarmed Christian missionary was outnumbered seven to one.
As for what people said about Catholics, maybe they were right. Maybe they still are right. There may be individual good Muslims and good Catholics (including in my family) but history tells us that Catholicism as a religious movement has been most mendacious.
Bringing up Catholics doesn't change the fact that everywhere Muslims have power, they use it to oppress others.
Whether they are citizens or not is irrelevant, as citizenship never deterred the states and federal governments from their desires and efforts to "exterminate" other undesirable religions in this country.
In reality, I'm as much a live-and-let-live person as the next guy, but there is no reasoning with the blood cult. The ones who pretend to be good cannot be trusted. If they were sincere they would be the ones leading the efforts to root out the so-called extremists. But nooooo, these phony goodie two-shoes won't lift so much as a finger to help, nor will they have anything to do with "ratting" out their muslim brothers. For a specific example of this behavior, recall the muslim FBI agent who would not wear a wire to record conversations of muslims suspected of being terrorists. IMO that agent should have been shot on the spot, but instead the FBI promoted him. The silence from the imams in this country condemning terrorism is deafening. If they won't so much as speak against these activities they are part of the conspiracy and should be eliminated.
As to where we send them...how about where they're going to end up eventually anyway?....HELL.
