Christian Evangelist Stabbed To Death
A Christian evangelist may have become Bangladeshs first modern martyr, following an attack by at least seven Muslim extremists armed with knives.
According to the Barnabas Fund, in the early morning hours of April 24, Hridoy Roy was returning home after showing the Jesus Film, a movie version of Lukes Gospel. As Roy approached his house seven or eight people attacked him, stabbing him seven times. He died instantly.
Roy was a Bangladeshi evangelist and frequently used the Jesus Film as an evangelistic tool. Officials from the Barnabas Fund say local believers fear that Roys martyrdom will not be the last. They are mourning the loss and are in a state of great shock and fear following the attack.
In Islamic (or Shariah) law, conversion from Islam to another faith can result in death. Converts who are not killed often lose their families, are beaten and have their possessions taken away from them.
As a statement from the Barnabas Fund commented, This (Shariah law) is the fundamental reason for the antipathy that most Muslims hold towards those who try to proselytize in their communities. It goes a long way towards explaining why they are sometimes willing to take such draconian measures to make sure that none of their community will be corrupted.
Barnabas Fund officials are asking that believers worldwide pray for the Lords presence, as well as comfort, love and support for Roys family at this devastating time.
In addition, they are asking Christians to pray for protection and encouragement for other believers and workers in Bangladesh (many of whom have ministries in dangerous areas), and that the apostasy law would be quickly changed.

Prayer on the way for the family, and for the friends of this modern-day Stephen. His work is done, but his deeds will live on.

That is a TRUE martyr.
He will be one of the first in the resurrection, as the Bible says.

Christians have been severely persecuted there for a long time. To portray this as a new thing is bogus.

It seems that Islam is at war with Christianity.
Meanwhile, Christianity cannot seem to be at war with Islam.

A Christian evangelist may have become Bangladeshs first modern martyr, following an attack by at least seven Muslim extremists armed with knives. As there is not now, never has been, nor will ever be a hue and cry from the Muslim quarters against violence from their brethren striking out against Christians, Jews, and other "Infidels" wherever they may be, the stupid b@st@rds writing news stories should strike the adjective extremists from the noun Muslim or Islam.

Religion of peace. Must've been the guys foreign policy that spurned them on.

Rev 2:10 Don't be afraid of the things which you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you will have oppression for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

If the 9/11 terrorists had been Christians, the shoelace strangler a Christian, the gun-toting Swedish Muslim a Christian, the Los Angeles airport killer a Christian and scores of suicide bombers Christians, I assure you we would not be pussyfooting around whether maybe there was something wrong with Christianity.
In a fascinating book written by two Arab Muslims who converted to Christianity, Ergun Mehmet Caner and Emir Fethi Caner give an eye-opening account of Islam's prophet in "Unveiling Islam: An Insider's Look at Muslim Life and Beliefs."
Citing passages from the Hadith, the collected sayings of Muhammad, the Caners note that, by his own account, the founder of Islam was often possessed by Satan. The phrase "Satanic Verses" refers to words that Muhammad first claimed had come from God, but which he later concluded were spoken by Satan.
Muhammad married 11 women, kept two others as concubines and recommended wife-beating (but only as a last resort!). His third wife was 6 years old when he married her and 9 when he consummated the marriage.
To say that Muhammad was a demon-possessed pedophile is not an attack. It's a fact. (And for the record, Timothy McVeigh is not the founder of Christianity. He wasn't even a Christian. He was an atheist who happened to be a gentile.)
Muslims argue against the Caners' book the way liberals argue against all incontrovertible facts. They deny the meaning of words, posit irrelevant counterpoints, and attack the Caners' motives.
Ibrahim Hooper, with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, says that by "6 years old" the Hadith really means "16 years old" and "9" means "19" -- numbers as similar in Arabic as they are in English. Hooper also makes the compelling argument that the Caner brothers -- who say they wrote their book out of love for Muslims whom they want to see in heaven -- are full of "hate."
Other Islamic scholars concede the facts but argue that Muhammad's marriage to a 6-year-old girl was an anomaly. Oh, OK, never mind. Still others explain that Muhammad's marriage to a 6-year-old girl was of great benefit to her education and served to reinforce political allegiances.
So was she really 16, or was it terrific that he had sex with a 9-year-old to improve her education? This is like listening to some Muslims' earlier argument-in-the-alternative that the Zionists attacked the World Trade Center, but America brought the attack on itself anyway.
Muhammad makes L. Ron Hubbard look like Jesus Christ. Most people think nothing of assuming every Scientologist is a crackpot. Why should Islam be subject to presumption of respect because it's a religion? Liberals bar the most benign expressions of religion by little America. Only a religion that is highly correlated with fascistic attacks on the U.S. demands their respect and protection

But it's wrong to say that it is a very evil religion. That's just mean. The Muslims I know are some of the most disgustingly peaceable people in the world. To say that there are evil men who are Muslims is true, but to say that Islam and therefore ALL Muslims are evil is false.
To: TLBSHOW
Well and good to quote someone else TLB, but how many Muslims have you actually met? Worked with? Gotten to know?

I work with a number of good people who are Muslims, I can't agree with Coulter in this case. Not all Muslims are evil, not even a large minority.
To: Zeroisanumber
They have you fooled then. Their religion is based on terrorism. Maybe they aren't real Islam Muslims? Hummmm

Did I say that all Muslims are evil?
Are there people who are WORSE than the religion they profess to believe in evil, in spite of their professed religion?
I think of Bill Clinton and his big, black Bible, and I instantly shout, "Yes!"
Are there people who are BETTER than the religion they profess in other words, kind and gentle in spite of their professed religion?
You betcha.
But that doesn't make an evil religion good.
