Dallas Morning News mentions Free Republic (in Michael Moore piece)
Dallas Morning News ^ | 5/19/03 | SerpentDove

Not a huge groundshaking story, but as I sat down to my delicious dinner consisting of a Jack-in-the-Box® Sourdough Burger Combo and a Minute Maid® Orange Soda a little while ago, I flipped open the local bird-cage liner to the inside of the front page.

There I saw a couple of paragraphs about Michael Moore-on's upcoming phlegm, "Fahrenheit 911," a "crockumentary" ®* which seeks to tie President Bush to Osama bin Laden and 911.

Anyway, in the last sentence, it said that members of www.freerepublic.com, a conservative website, saw the phlegm as an attack on President Bush (which it is).

Once again, FR is promoted while the libs are exposed.

You could try Google-ing "copyright" or "US Copyright Application" etc.

I flipped open the local bird-cage liner

You use the Dallas Morning News as a bird-cage liner? I'm calling the SPCA!

Do a Google search on copyright. I found out how to do it once, but that is what I did, then I followed some of the links to other links. You have to file it somewhere and of course pay, but I forgot what agency handles it.

But, as I said, you can find out how to do almost anything starting with Google.

Don't you have to fill out an application?

Maybe I saw it and subconsciously "plagiarized" it. Sheesh.

My life does not hang on this, as it was only a joke anyway.

My apologies.

You can fill out an application for $10, I think, with the U.S. Patent Office, but if the item is published and you can document the date, it is your. Legal binding.

Copyright law of 1978 says if you have a ©, that's all you need.

I know - just having some fun with you.

But seriously - you might not have seen before - there are supposedly many cases where simultaneous discoveries are made on opposite sides of the globe and the two groups, individuals have no knowledge of each other. Especially on FR, we can expect great minds to think alike.

Ugggggh. I hate to see that that fat piece of dreck contaminated my neighborhood in NYC (he's standing at 57th St just West of 7th avenue here).

I still haven't seen an official statement from Disney on this. I do believe that these people were told what they claim when they called but it seems odd that Disney has not tried to correct the error when Daily Variety claimed that they were funding Michael Moore's next film.

I tried to copyright the word "the" since no one had done it before and collect royalties on each time it was used.
Didn't work.
