TO BE AIRED TONIGHT ON CBS... LOCAL CHANNEL 2 FOR NY METRO AREA TV/CABLE/SATELLITE.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
The theme for HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL comes from this quote by Edmund Burke. Burke was not a contemporary of Hitler's or Nazi Germany, but rather lived during the time of the American Revolution. Born in 1729 in Dublin, he was a philosopher and statesman who supported human rights issues, was a member of the British Parliament and advocated conciliation towards the American colonists.
This quote is ascribed in various forms to Burke, though never found in his writings. Possibly it is a distillation of the words found in Thoughts on the Cause of the Present Discontents (April 23, 1770): "When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle."

Read Burke's quotation... why doesn't CBS adhere to this quote when discussing Iraq/Hussein?

I really don't know why anyone would bother to watch, read, produce or write anything about Hitler any longer. The whole subject has become an intellectual "black box" that is perfectly unassailable by logic. Simply put, it is impossible to publicly say anything about Hitler that might be construed as being "positive" or "supportive" or "sympathetic", for fear of being called a "racist" and a "Nazi' and a "fascist". The end result is that the whole subject of "Hitler" has become a totem of all things evil, an endless resource of unassailable "facts" for those inclined to bully others into mindlessly accepting their propaganda.
I wonder what the opening scenes will be like.
Close up shot of a YOUNG HITLER, grinning maniacally. Camera pulls back to show a line of puppy dogs being strangled by him, one by one. His face bears a rictus grin of pure evil. He smashes the head of the last puppy, and then gets up and looks towards the shabby house in the distance that he calls home. "Adolf, your dinner is ready" says the MOTHER, who is wearing a blood soaked apron soiled by her ritual sacrifice of helpless kittens. "Are you ready for a big bowl of dead puppy and kitty stew?" "Oh boy, my favorite" YOUNG HITLER exclaims.

Oh Contrair! He will act and look just like cute little you as a young boy.

I wonder what the opening scenes will be like. I'm a bit skeptical, seeing how this is on SeeBS. I'm thinking that there will be "uncanny" comparisons between young Hitler and young Bush:
Both boys were born to caucasian parents; both ate meat.....

I wouldn't expect a CBS Movie Of The Week to provide any enlightenment about anything.

Oh Contrair! He will act and look just like cute little you as a young boy. A young boy who looks surprizing like the young Geo. W. Bush.
I don't doubt it for a minute that the real purpose of this little show is to demonstrate how the currently very popular Geo. W. could easily become Der Fuhrer from Texas.
All they've got to do is demonstrate that the German people liked Hitler in 1938, and say "see, any president the common people like (as opposed to who the elitists like) could become another Hitler"
There were many conservatives who thought Clinton could do such a thing (and some who think he still could if he got to the top at the UN). The difference is that the left owns the media, so now that a conservative is in office, out pops this show.

Dang... you beat me to it.
The Klintoons eight-year pillage of America should be at the forefront of every History and Civics class taught in schools today. Ooops... I forgot they are busy teaching multi-culturalism, and socialism, to the youth of today.

Remember all those signs the anti-American protestors carried, Bush = Hitler ... this is just another opportunity for the liberals to try to connect Bush to Hitler. It cannot be done, but they're trying.
What other "movies" appeared this spring - Napoleon and Ceasar. What do these people all have in common ... they were all conquorers - which is what the liberals keep saying about Bush and his imperialistic ways.
This is not a coinsidence, it's a plan to sow seeds of distrust about Bush's character. Please connect the dots!

Too bad... lol. We can't watch because we're too busy doing something useful: packing so we can get the h*ll away from Seattle. Even if we weren't, we'd be more entertained throwing water balloons at the panhandlers on the corner.

Labeling Hitler as Right-Wing is about ALL you can really count on from CBS.
