Going to go see it today. Hopefully I get it and don't walk away thinking it sucked.

Liked the first one plenty.

Saw the new one last night.

Sucked. Totally.

Saw it last night. Sold out on 4 screens all night.

I liked it a lot. As a middle part of a trilogy it was much mor satisfying than the Lord of the Rings' second movie.

The soundtrack was awesome too.

There's sneak preview of the third film at the end of the credits.

Maybe I will see it after the X-files black shades black spaghetti western dustercoats tire of wandering the streets in a couple of weeks, or the DVD comes out.

Great post!

What would anyone do if they didn't get this bit of news?

Awaiting the sequel to the sequel "Matrix Gets Loaded".

Saw it last night. I think that the special effects and fight sequences are great! The scenes with the disco and the sex were totally unnecessary as was the language. Toward the end though I actually nodded off for about 10 minutes. The first was much better.

The BO numbers are based on the name recognition and inertia of success of the first film. I predict it will nosedive pretty soon as word of mouth quickly gets around about what a turkey it is... Kinda like what happened with the later Batman movies: huge first weekend takes based on name recognition and then buyer's remorse sets in.

It was AMAZING. That fight scene with Neo and the agents??? I've never seen anything like it.

The new bullet time is astounding, Trinity's opening scene where she's falling and shooting is killer -

this is simply a kick-ass movie. The parts in Zion are incredible. I really LOVED this movie. By the way, stick around until after the credits, if you go see it...

I love these Matrix threads. Something about this flick brings out the Scrooge in people. I haven't seen it yet but there is simply no way it could suck worse than hundreds and hundreds of other films- Dumb and Dumber, American Pie 2, Rambo 2, Event Horizon to name a few. I mean those movies made me question whether I wanted to be part of the human race or not- literally.

I'm looking forward to seeing it and I'm already pretty sure I would see it at least a couple of times. I won't judge it totally until I've seen all three- I figure I would have only seen two thirds of the story after this one. It took a long time for the Matrix to percolate in my thoughts. I still watch it every so often and enjoy it every time (every time something new). I expect it to have this one sorted out by the time the last installment of the trilogy comes out.

As a fan of The Matrix, I was eager to see this sequel. After having seen it, I have mixed emotions.

THE GOOD: The special effects have once again raised the bar and are beyond belief or description. Also, the depth of plot that will "...really bake your noodle", in the words of The Oracle, are extremely well thought-out. I left the theater in deep thought, and it wasn't until the next day that I digested most of the plot line and where I think it's going. Pretty good writing...

THE BAD: This movie fully merits the "R" rating, unfortunately. There is a full 5-6 minute, completely un-necessary orgy/sex scene that seems to go on forever in what is supposed to be a "temple" in Zion. It is like something out of a pagan ritual. While we are treated to scenes of sweaty bodies grinding and groping, there are explicit scenes of Neo and Trinity having intercourse, orgasm and all. The sad thing is, none of this adds anything to the movie, which would have probably been "PG-13" had they simply edited out this 5-6 minute orgy. I don't know what is more shocking or disappointing: This scene being included in what was otherwise an excellent movie, or the fact that there was a family of a mom, dad, and three boys under the age of 10 in front of us.

OVERALL: Excellent movie, great effects, superb, deep, writing. But somewhat ruined by sexual content. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars, but proceed with caution.

It's time that tickets sold becomes the standard for records. The prices in our area went up 50 cents since Spiderman. That's about an 8% increase. I like it when they compare a current movie with one 10 years older and more.
