IMHO, too many peopleon this forum will 'ambulance-chase' at the slightest word of some trouble with Chelsea Clinton, yet turn a blind eye re: Gov. Bush's daughter's embarrassing mug shots and standing before a Florida judge.

Hang in there, I think you are being objective and a good Freeper, and not falling for the old 'double-standard', traits which are in essence intellectual honesty. I would expect the same from more 'conservatives' out there, but I guess not.

I personally think Daddy has a couple of spoiled college brats in their rebellious phase, that perhaps need some good family counseling and a trip by Dad to the woodshed, verbally or figurately, might straighten out. Whatever.

I think the Twins have been given two strikes and any responsible parent would call them home if it happens again.

Given the immense media pressure involved , I think that this is again an example of good parenting by Laura and Dubya.

Don't generalize. If you look at the archives you'll see that I have vehemently defended Chelsea on several Chelsea-bashing threads. I think the attacks against Chelsea are the worst face that conservatives can possibly show. These attacks against Noelle, Lauren, Barbara, and Jenna by the left and the malcontents are the worst also. An election year is on the way, I guess it's time to go after the kids again.

If there really is a problem, turn them over to Grandma Bush for "couselling".

I would observe that they are legally adults now, even if still financially dependent on their parents to some degree, and responsible for their own actions.

The critisims of Chelesea's "make work" (and grossly overpaid make work at that) job however allege or imply use of influence by her parents, one of which is still a "public servant", making that use of influence still fair game for political commentary.

I'd be more surprised if the Bush twins, Jeb's daughter, Chelsea Clinton, the Gore boys and girls ...etc. DIDN'T party like the somewhat over indulgent children of the privilaged class that they are ... I went to school with kids like them - maybe not so publically famous, but definitely kids of a certain social class ... it's par for the course. Not endorsing these activities as model behavior, but the fact is they are really just borderline bad in the context of what thousands of what privilaged college kids do, nothing really out of line, but sometimes the publicity can look bad for the parents.
