Just the header, read the article at the newsstand

Said that Laura and Dubya had called a family conference with the First Twins and said that there are to be no more wild college parties and both will be required to live in Washington for the summer and perhaps longer if another incident gets into the press. (as long as they are recieving college money)

The article did not say whether Barbara the younger would then commute to Yale or Jenna would transfer to Maryland U.

National Enquirer, eh? The next time they have a headline like "Man Dies, Goes to Heaven, Sees Elvis, Takes Picture as Proof", are you going to post that too?

"Being Seniors in college ..."

They can't be seniors, can they? They started college in '00, when Bush was elected, so they would be Juniors this year, and starting Senior year this Sept., provided they are neither ahead, nor behind scedule for 4 years and out. If they were really seniors, they'd be through with college now. Or very, very close to it.

party party. Like W wasnt young once

They need to show more respect for their father's position, a U.S. president who's ALWAYS a smear target by our media. The more crap they pull, the more spoiled and selfish they seem. I think Dubya has shown vast fatherly patience with them thus far.

Wellll....

If nothing else, this story tells you that raising chilluns is a damn tough job--and even having the Secret Service to assist you doesn't make it any easier.

Thank God for GWB--who has inadvertently allowed us "normal" parents who WISH TO HELL THEIR CHILDREN WOULD BEHAVE!!! to know that we are not alone.

Yep, and tell their kids that if they are still getting college money from mommy and daddy there are rules to live by (abide by the law etc.)

I am kidding around of course. Part of me feels the way you do. The other part says, 'hey we didn't ask for this, we want our FREEDOM'

So they drink and party in college. I am sorry, I dont see the scandal at all.

IF my parents threatened to cut me off, I would let them.

I would then go to the college that offered the highest scholarship.

I am not in any way going to condone or excuse the girls behavior, or criticize the President & First Lady. But it must be noted that it must be extraordinarilly difficult to be the child of a US President. Maintaining anything that even remotely resembles a normal upbringing must be close to impossible. The wonder is that all of the "first kids" don't go absolutely off the deep end.

Yeah, I believe about a fourth of what the tabloids say! Some have a little bit of truth to them; but most of them are crap. I haven't read or heard anything about this in the news! The tabloids pretend to be news, but are mostly gossip.

The tabloids are very entertaining; but I take them with a grain of salt! It sounds like old news! Why? Because they are 21 now, and pretty much on their own. Also, I have read that after 9-11, they seemed to become closer to their folks, and had settled down a bit.

"How about bombing the countries that are drugging America? Or it's party time for dope heads - which shall it be?"

Don't worry. A lot of dopeheads aren't going to be around much longer. (Al-Qaeda is lacing and shipping narcotics to do as much damage as possible.)

Interesting point, I think the grizzly 'Hannibel Lecter' like manner in which Scott disposed of both bodies mae it national news-but there are definitely news stories that are more important to cover. It shouldn't be the only thing on the news 24/7

Since Bush was elected, we've been inundated with these local stories of child abductions, etc., that gets everyone hooked on their outcome. Fox News has to run the same crap to stay in the ratings. But there is a method to this liberal media madness. It's a diversionary tactic to keep us from moving ahead with legislation since we control all three branches. How are the people supposed to get worked up about Estrada when there's a new juicy story about a kidnapping or a murder every couple of weeks? It was covered on Animal Farm when the pigs saw that this kind of stuff mesmerizes the other animals and they could continue to run things the way they wanted to under the radar.

These are local stories making national news. I don't mind watching movies on these kinds of topics, but I hate to see the national news services dominated by this local stuff.

It almost becomes a chess match between the lawyers with Scott Petersons life hanging in the balance. (which probably ain't a bad thing to have him tortured)-that is part of the spectacle

I personally think Daddy has a couple of spoiled college brats in their rebellious phase, that perhaps need some good family counseling and a trip by Dad to the woodshed, verbally or figurately, might straighten out. Whatever.

If there really is a problem, turn them over to Grandma Bush for "couselling".

I would observe that they are legally adults now, even if still financially dependent on their parents to some degree, and responsible for their own actions.

The critisims of Chelesea's "make work" (and grossly overpaid make work at that) job however allege or imply use of influence by her parents, one of which is still a "public servant", making that use of influence still fair game for political commentary.

On second thought, turn them over to both grandmothers, one on one and then switch. Being double teamed by those two ladies would not be fun.

Murder trials are spectacles, yes. National front-page headline news...no. People can watch what they want on the national news though. I personally haven't seen more than 1 minute at a time of the Peterson case, usually a remote is handy.

Chels is too busy cashing in on her $130,000.00 a year make work consulting job pouring coffee that Vernon Jordan got her!

So, all she has to do for the money is pour coffee? She doesn't even have to make it because Vernon Jordon makes it and brings it to her?

Man, I wish I could get one of those jobs!
