Just the header, read the article at the newsstand
Said that Laura and Dubya had called a family conference with the First Twins and said that there are to be no more wild college parties and both will be required to live in Washington for the summer and perhaps longer if another incident gets into the press. (as long as they are recieving college money)
The article did not say whether Barbara the younger would then commute to Yale or Jenna would transfer to Maryland U.

Being Seniors in college they probably think they can get away with alot and it is good for Laura to take them down a peg.

If there is celebrity scnadal/Laci Peterson news, yes-they break real exclusives all the time and got kitchen crime scene photos this weekI don't read those threads either. When the Peterson case makes any appearance on any national news channel including Fox News, I immediately change the channel. This crap is designed to draw everyone's attention froim the real national news, that being taxes, terrorism, Estrada, etc.

Where's the story? Is this the dumb thing about that model-turned-actor's party
18 months ago?
Give me a break.

Being 21 makes them adults and responsible for their own actions. They are celebrities who don't need daddy's money should they elect to strike out on their own....and daddy's heavy hand might just be the catlyst that sends them packing.

I fthey want to truly strike out on their own then they don't need Daddy's college money (which is the point Laura is making here, IMO)

It looks like our president and the First Lady have the same kind of "kids growing up" troubles that many of us regular folk do. We each do what we can to lead our kids down the right path, and try to reorient them to that path when they stray. Sometimes it works, sometimes they can be stubborn. I won't fault the parents or make excuses for them. Sometimes, regardless of a parent's efforts, the kids will ignore the best advice, and do knuckleheaded things; and all we can do is hope and pray that they make it through. I know the feeling.

Interesting point, I think the grizzly 'Hannibel Lecter' like manner in which Scott disposed of both bodies mae it national news-but there are definitely news stories that are more important to cover.
It shouldn't be the only thing on the news 24/7

I admit I got curious when I saw the cover in the grocery line and I read it. I don't know whether to believe it, though, because I don't see how the tabloid could get this kind of information. I mean, they relate this whole supposed three-way phone conversation between W. and his daughters, with "he said" and the daughters' reactions, etc. How could they possibly find out the details of a private phone conversation between the President and his daughters? W. would surely not confide in some clerk or staffer at the White House, repeating this conversation between his daughters and himself! The only people he'd confide in, if anybody, would be his closest inner circle, and surely those people don't talk to the tabloids. All these tabs have to do is make up a story and say "an insider said." They can actually make up whatever they want! I admit I was curious enough to read it, though, so I certainly wouldn't criticize anyone else who does! LOL There's a photo inside of the President looking like he's lecturing somebody (probably from some speech or interview) and pics of the daughters. They really are pretty girls.

Here is the story at Teen Hollywood Read it carefully and you see when the events took place. The same story is in the SF Examiner, Rolling Stone, USA Today , and others like it was current events.

Guessing Mom and Dad are just finding out about this activity now.
The New York Post has reported openly about the Bush girls dancing at NYC P. Diddy parties with pot smoke overhanging in the room-this is not the first time this has happened

My guess is that during the 3 way phone coversation, there was a roomate or someone living next door who overheard the phone conversation at Yale or UT and called the tabloids for pay..
All of the major tabloids are sourced, since they don't want to pay out big lawsuit settlements like they had to with the Smart Family when 2 local Salt Lake Tribune reporters reported info to the Enquirer.

There needs to be a standard. Either the Bush kids and the Gore and Clinton kids are off limits, or all are fair game.
Tired of the hypocrisy around here. I can have it either way.

From the tabs viewpoint, once they they turn 21 they are legal and fair game. (of course they didn't go after Chelsea Clinton after she was legal because Bruce Lindsay probably put out the stop order)

I am talking about the folks here.
I believe Bubba and Crusty are disgusting people. That being said, the vile cruelness that goes on here in regards to Chelsea, even when she was underage was just wrong.
No, I don't particularly care that Jenna and Barb smoke pot and get drunk. I just am amazed/amused at the same people jumping from a bash Chelsea thread, to saying how it is nobody's business what the twins do. The divergence is amazing.
