CNN with John Zarella hit piece "Gun Battle" on AW Ban

CNN just aired a documentary piece by John Zarella titled "Gun Battle", subtitled "Assault Weapon Ban set to expire in 2004".
The piece featured Broward County Florida Sheriff Ken Jenne and deputies at a live firing range. The deputy demonstrated a "banned Chinese AK-47" on FULL AUTO, firing bursts into a stack of concrete blocks.
Sheriff Ken Jenne held up a semi-auto hunting shotgun in one hand and the illegal full-auto AK-47 in the other hand and stated that the full-auto AK was "the type of gun covered by the ban".
Sheriff Jenne used the phrase "these weapons have no place on the streets" approximately 57 times. Sheriff Jenne stated that he has no problem with "tools for hunters and sport" but that "this issue is WAY ABOVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT" because "no one has the right to own a weapon designed to kill", only for "hunting birds".
CNN John Zarella kissed butt of said Sheriff Jenne approximately 63 times, stating he was awed by the "incredible firepower" and destruction of the full-auto AK-47 because the concrete blocks eventually broke.
Sheriff Jenne also demonstrated how the full-auto AK made holes in a minimum-spec kevlar vest, which proves in his mind that "these weapons are killers with no place on the streets", implied that no other rifle could have penetrated the thin vest.
Sheriff Jenne states that with the ban "no one can own a 30-round magazine", only 10 rounds. 30-round magazines are "designed to kill police officers".
Sorry for the semi-vanity but I am so p*ssed off by this blatant, nationwide broadcast of disinformation. We're in for a lot of this before September 2004. Stay tuned.

Not to mention ComedyCentral.com's broadcast tonight of Colin Quinn's "Tough Crowd" which called anyone who would own an assault weapon an "NRA cracker" who "sprays deer".
Did I mention that I'm p*ssed off? I've got to start sleeping at night and quit watching TV *sigh*

I've got to start sleeping at night and quit watching TV Take a couple of asperin and call me in the morning . . . You know perfectly well that CNN is propaganda; they admitted it. Terrified into silence--and worse--by Saddam, but brave to criticize individual Republicans and the party in general because they know we're not threatening anyone. How they sleep at night, who knows?
BTW while they were propagandizing for laws to ban what's already illegal and has been for the past 70 years, did they propose a ban on shredders, knowing what Uday did with one?

Hey, man, you beat me to it. I was in an airport and CNN was all that was on and they were airing this show. They did not have ONE alternate viewpoint; all I could think was: no wonder they're losing viewers faster than the 3rd Army took Baghdad.
This was journalism actually WORSE than the NY Times.
Personal note: when I bought the Times at Kennedy airport (long flight to Long Beach) I asked the vendor if this was the fiction or non-fiction edition?
Thanks for posting; there was at least one other Freeper who saw it and was as p*ssed off as you!

Everyone needs to remember it is not only what CNN says that is to be worried about. You need to look at what they are covering up.Remember they covered up for Saddam and the atrocities in Iraq so they could be insiders. They kept the story quite on Scott Ritter and his arrest, they did this in the name of promoting a lie and did not what his veracity questioned.Ever heard of the ends justifying the means.
Now along comes the New York Times and their showering of numerous lies to the public.
The so called "Mainstream Media" cannot and should not be trusted. What has come out in the open is just a minute amount of what is going on.
Me thinks there is a great left wing conspiracy going on in America and for it to survive the government must control everything and maybe even lower the expectations of our schools and bastions of higher learning. It is a sad day indeed when America is so close to being divided along liberal and conservative lines. We may just be one step away from becoming Socialist or even worse we may be taken over by a dictator. If the liberals can take away all our weapons and thwart our legislatures and Congress then it is not out of question that we could have a dictator in America.
Just think it can be done in the name of "The Rule Of Law"!

Leave it to the Commie News Network to help.

illegal full-auto AK-47Funny, but this gun is not illegal in CT. Now, a high-cap magazine may be , but not a full auto AK-47. In CT, it can be semi, or full auto, but not both (selective fire)

If AWB2 is passed, I will vote against Bush, and I hope he loses. I'd rather deal with Clinton/Schumer than lying Clymers who are selling our freedom one slice at a time.

"did they propose a ban on shredders, knowing what Uday did with one? "
Locally here in Southern ca. a sherrif's deputy (Bruce Lee)answered a call a few days ago, a mom called saying her twenty some year old son was uncontrollable. The deputy was beaten to death by the druggie, either with bare hands or the baton of the officer.
The second deputy on the scene shot and killed the perp.
The deputies knew the druggie from many previous encounters. My point: many things can be used to kill but these libs can't see past their hood ornaments.

I will just stay home! I don't own an "assault" rifle but if half of the shi_t in that bill becomes law we will be effectively disarmed! I won't help prepare my own hanging rope.
Everyone has a go-no-go scenario, passage of that law is mine. A "line-in-the-sand", if you will.

Exactly. And AWB2 is also my personal "line in the sand."
Jewish policemen in the Warsaw ghetto led Jews to the train station.
I won't be led by collaborating Republican "capos" to my disarmament.

Actually I don't know if the select-fire AK used on CNN last night (they demonstrated both semi and full auto fire) was in fact "illegal" since the Sheriff had it and we all know that LE rules are different from our own.
But I bristle at them claiming that a select-fire NFA weapon is what the assault weapon ban is all about. Although you and I know this is untrue, this was all just scary eye candy for the uninformed voters to make them think that if the AW ban dies, machine guns go on sale at 7-11 next year.

Oh, sure. It's all about FEELINGS. I FEEL this is dangerous, or I FEEL this is bad.If people choose to be defenseless, so be it. I (and you it would appear) choose otherwise.
