That’s why, in the end, this book is worth reading. It’s brutally revealing about the stupidity, bigotry, malevolence and extremism of the right-wing forces that became obsessed with President Clinton. I’m glad they ultimately lost.

Anyone else bothered by this little dig?

Out of the entire article, this is the quote that will be used to promote the book.

His mind was filled with great plans: universal healthcare, reducing the federal deficit, investments in education and the environment, cutting crime, remaking the welfare system, ending discrimination, to begin with."

Interesting quote, in that Clinton had NO thoughts that the budget deficit could be dealt with in his terms of office, and that Clinton twice vetoed welfare reform, which was pushed through by Republicans, and only finally signed it when Dick Morris told that he had to do it or he might lose the 1996 election. And Sid said that BJ Clinton said all of these thoughts BEFORE the events took place?!! Sid is as much of a delusional liar as BJ Clinton himself.

Isn't this the Andrew Sullivan who's a flaming, bug chasing, bare backing, badger fancier (homo)?

obligatory... "not that there's anything wrong with that"

he’s loyal to an institution, the Democratic Party. Fealty to that institution—and its success at all costs—is the only moral criterion I can find in Mr. Blumenthal’s writing.

In other words, he's the same as all other Democrats.

Sid is as much of a delusional liar as BJ Clinton himself.

What did you expect? Clinton would have been forced to deal with reality if he had aides - unlike silly sycophantic Sid in kneepads - who were honest, moral, sane, and intelligent.

Found this in Webster's Dictionary: "Sid Blumenthal - brown nose weasel."

How about Mr. Starr was appointed by BJ, and he had no such elected position of power.

I guess Andy decides to gloss over that part.

I think editors often don't have the power to get rid of columnists. Michael Kelly (who detested Blumenthal) edited him for a while at The New Yorker, if memory serves.

The religious adulation of Clinton.

Sure, trash the economy. Run Hillary as the stealth candidate. Lanny Davis proposes huge "disclosure" regulations to the SEC this week that will be as disasterous as the Kyoto treaty would be. Anti-war protests continue beyond the war. The ChiComs continue to be let loose to fund Democrat traitors. Democrat filibusters continue ad nauseum for purely political reasons.

Think all this and more is is any mere coincidence? The religion of Clinton is alive.

I heard about this review on Lucianne, and it's very scathing. It's hard to imagine anyone reading the book, let alone enjoying it.

"Mr. Blumenthal was obsessed with the enemy, and together with his new sidekick, the Gollum-like David Brock"

Seems to me that Sidney from Chicago( a real great place for radicals to spawn- was he a "red diaper baby"?) is the Real Gollum Here.
