Why didn't you post a "hysterical laughter alert?"
To: Paul Atreides
"At first I thought, `How in the world did (U.S. Attorney General John) Ashcroft come up with a reason to get the FBI banging on our door?'" Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco said with a laugh."
Guilty conscience?

Idiots like that never miss a chance to take shots at Ashcroft. However, for it to have been funny, it would have had to have some sort of relevance to the situation.

Tornado alert?
They better move along, before someone drops a house on them!
To: Pan_Yans Wife
Here's how it would have been funnier, and more true to life:
"At first I thought, `What is that girl/boy doing back? I paid her/him what she wanted.'" Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco said with a laugh."
Or....
"At first I thought, `I hope this dealer is more discreet than the last one.'" Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco said with a laugh."
To: Willie Green
You ought to hear the TX Dems on Cspan (the congresscritters, not the state legislators). It's a hoot.

Tornado ALert! Now if you ladies and gentlemen will just hop into the back of this truck, we'll drive you to someplace safe.
Hours later, the 'relative' safety of Austin is seen....

"But Democrats have their share of support in Austin. One man was hawking 'Killer Ds' T-shirts for $15 apiece, saying part of the proceeds would go to the state Democratic Party."DUH. These are elected lawmakers who are breaking the law. They redistricted when they had control. Was it any more RIGHT to redistrict then??

"You get to a point where you draw a line in the sand and make a stand on principle," Principle? What has this guy been smokin'? He has absolutly no idea what principle is. After all, he's a democrat. If he had any concept of principle he would be in Austin doing the job that the voters sent him to do.
To: Paul Atreides
And what principle would these Texas dim dems be standing on? The "we are in the minority and can't legislate fairly, so we're taking our marbles and hiding out" principle? Sheesh.
To: Willie Green
Their day began about 11 a.m. Wednesday with a Bible reading Song of Solomon, no doubt
and prayer
to Gaia?

This is how the Democratic lawmakers in Texas interpret fairness.
When the Dems are in the majority, the parties debate the issues and at the appropriate time, a vote is taken, and the majority rules.
But when the Dems are in the minority: they refuse to come to work; they wont debate, they wont vote. They run off to another State to avoid their responsibilities. They do not believe in the principle of majority rule.
Rather, they believe that the ends justifies the means. They will do whatever necessary (even break the law) to get their way. They are all tyrants.
The tyranny of the Democratic party is almost over. There is a fresh air blowing across the land.
Thank you, Texas Democrats, for making the point so obvious.
To: Willie Green
The behavior of those democrats is so childish I'm at a loss for words.
We want other countries to install democracies. Why would they want a democracy after watching this c***?

Principle? Absolutely right. These dems don't know the meaning of the word.
The republican representatives in Austin, on the other hand, abide by another important word...
RESPONSIBILITY

Hey can we pay off someone at the OK National Weather Service to broadcast more tornado alerts every morning at 4AM in the Ardmore, OK area? :) Or maybe just slip the desk clerk a $20 to do it just for fun. :)
