(York S.C.-AP) May 14, 2003 - A national civil rights group plans to encourage a boycott if York County's Martin Luther King Junior holiday policy isn't changed.
The Charlotte, North Carolina, chapter of the National Action Network plans to march at the York County Courthouse at noon Monday to urge the county to recognize King Day as a full holiday.
York, Greenville and Lexington are the only South Carolina counties that don't close offices on King Day, the third Monday of January.
The group issued a statement Tuesday by chapter President John C. Barnett. The statement says, if the policy isn't changed by August 1st, the group will push for a boycott of the county starting August 4th.
The statement says the boycott would be in effect on the first Monday of each month until the policy is changed.

The North Carolina NAACP is going to protest in South Carolina? I'm glad they have solved all of the problems in North Carolina.
Since the NAACP is already boycotting South Carolina, how are they going to place an extra boycott on York County. A Double Secret Boycott?

This is getting so ridiculous.
They're like little kids who want to throw a little tantrum every time something doesn't go their way. And their demands juist keep getting more and more petty.

Add Jack$on, Farah-Con, Sharpton and Glover to the list and we can ALL take the whole week off.

The NAACP believes that melanin rich people advance best when they are actively seeking paid-time-off through boycott's and protests?
So what are the essential elements here?
1) Disruption and divisiveness
2) Threats and Demands
3) Rumors of conspiracy
4) More leisure time.
5) Idolizing
I don't think the KKK could stereotype "colored" people any more pejoriously than the NAACP by characterizing the black cause as a hatefilled, conspiracy consumed rabble of lazy malcontents who worship a violently murdered adulterous, plagerizing communist.

If the US is really as racist as the NAACP tells us that it is, you would think that a NAACP boycott might actually make South Carolina's beaches more attractive to all those racist whites that they complain about.

Our law office always closes that Monday....in honor of Robert E. Lee's birthday.
