Well, it's about time the NYT realized there is a problem with thier reporting

Maybe now they will start to report the truth .. but I won't hold my breathe

Blair is the clown prince poster boy of affirmative actions, diversity and political correctness bundled up in one sorry pos.

However, The NY Slimes did the story about all of his personal problems to try and take away attention from the critical problem of the Slimes for 7 decades.

That problem is the Slimes lies, shields, spikes the trutn and uses their paper as propaganda tool for the left that includes socialism, communism and Islamofacism.

Just look at the documentation that we have on Free Republic since the 2000 election of the lies, half truths, no truth, mantras posing as news and other left wing propaganda posing as news.

The people who own, run and manage the Slimes are mentally ill people using their news paper to make their abnormal life styles/beliefs appear to be normal.

Now it is catching up with them. They don't work in a protected vacuum any more. The nation is waking up to what many of us have know for a long time. The NY Slimes is not capable of printing the truth or doing reliable reporting.

Travis posted, How many of these fellows slept their way into their jobs at the notoriously gay NYT?

Simple Answer: Probably Most! The only attributes needed were to be a left wing hostile gay who could really lie in his/its phoney stories posing as news.

An excellent read. It might shock you to know that when the first Ochs ran the New York Times in the 19th Century - it had an agenda. According to Dr. Marvin Olasky in his book "Prodigal Press", the New York Times campaigned against abortion, against liberalizing our drug laws and promoted trust in a Christian God.

I'm sure Old Man Ochs whould be aghast at the tone of his paper today, even if they bothered every once in awhile to get their facts right.

I realize I'm coming to this issue late, since this was huge several days ago, but I did want to raise one issue here.

I am less concerned about one African American writer who fudged the facts, than I am the whole staff for doing the same damned thing without any criticism at all.

The Times likes to pat itself on the back, but they skew the facts nearly every day by selectively presenting information when they know damned well there is plenty of material available for balance. Instead of providing it, they act as if the information they do present is the total story, thus skewing the reader's view in what I can only term dishonesty of the highest order.

The Times isn't the only rag guilty of this. In the 30s we used to expect such things. In this day and age, with information available from a myriad of quarters, the Times simply deligitimizes their standing further every day.

When that story is reported and action is taken to correct the situation, give me a call. This mia-culpa is self-serving to the highest order! Repugnant is one of many fitting words that come to mind.

Subj: Question For Forum

Mr. Raines:
As a Times employee, the startling revelations I've heard lately are most distressing and causing me to question if other Times stories might be incorrect.

What I'd like a straight answer about is this:
Is it possible George W. Bush actually won the presidency?

Further, is it possible that the quagmire we've been reporting in Iraq might be over?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Sincerely,

Anita Lief
Morgue

I have no doubt we'll find lots of that type of incestuous business relationship at work in this case at the NYT.

But my antenna tells me there is a gay connection, possibly Blair-Boyd.

Can you imagine how radioactive a gay angle to this story would be at the NYT?

If Blair was hired, and kept on, because of his "gentle touch" can you imagine how they will try to hide that damning fact?

Great idea.

IMHO, race is not the main issue. NY Times would have had no problem going after a conservative black. Rather, it's a combination of dishonesty at the Times, incompetence, and perhaps the lazy/stupid/dishonest reporter had something on his bosses.

In any case, the scandal has further eroded the credibility of the media and the NY Times in particular.

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX TUE MAY 13, 2003 19:48:58 ET XXXXX

EMERGENCY MEETING CALLED AT OLD GRAY LADY; NY TIMES NEWSROOM IN CRISIS

[DRUDGE OBTAINED THIS INTERNAL E-MAIL TO NY TIMES STAFF]

Howell, Gerald and Arthur request that you join your newsroom colleagues at an open forum at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, to discuss the Jayson Blair matter and anything else you might have on your mind. The meeting will be held at the Loew's Astor Theater, the moviehouse just behind The Times on 44th Street at Broadway, across from Carmine's. Doors open at 2:15 p.m.

Please be sure to bring your Times i.d. card. No one will be admitted to the theater without their Times i.d.

You will be able to ask questions from the floor, or write them on cards that will be distributed at the door. In addition, we have set up an email address -- forum@nytimes.com -- where you can send questions, either in advance of the session or afterward.

On Wednesday morning, we will send out a separate email advising correspondents and bureaus outside New York how they may dial into the forum and listen to the session. Unfortunately, because of the short time available to set up the forum, people listening from a remote location will not be able to ask live questions. You may, however, avail yourself of the email address above. If you get questions to us before 2 p.m. EDT tomorrow, we will put them into the hopper. Otherwise, they will be answered later.
