Wow, could any reply be later than this one? I think the place you're talking about is called Rudy's.
TX has great BBQ Beef, but, IMHO, the sauces are watery and weak. It's all about Sonny's BBQ in FL.

Rudy's is correct. Watery mouth yet again.....Now I live in FL and have yet to see a Sonny's. Will have to try it out when I see one; thanks for the tip!

Around here, NE Florida, Sonny's is a fixture. As I recall, the first location is in Gainesville.

I went to Texas A&M's civilian UXO (EOD) school. While I was in College Station, I dragged the guys out to Rudy's a few times. They had great lean beef! It was the best quality meat I've ever seen, including the beef on my Grandfather's cattle ranch in Jacksonville.
