Dribble
"I loathe America, and what it has done to the rest of the world ," the banner reads over a screed by Margaret Drabble, novelist.
I knew that the wave of anti-Americanism that would swell up after the Iraq war would make me feel ill. And it has. It has made me much, much more ill than I had expected.
America has made you sick. Ah, Maggie dear, buck up. Let us know what we can do to make you well.
My anti-Americanism has become almost uncontrollable. It has possessed me, like a disease. It rises up in my throat like acid reflux, that fashionable American sickness. I now loathe the United States and what it has done to Iraq and the rest of the helpless world.
Why, yes, we've chased those thugs, Saddam & Sons, the shredder guys, the charming chaps who pluck out tongues to cure dissentary.
I can hardly bear to see the faces of Bush and Rumsfeld, or to watch their posturing body language, or to hear their self-satisfied and incoherent platitudes. The liberal press here has done its best to make them appear ridiculous, but these two men are not funny.
De gustibus, Miss Drabble. Can't bear to hear them? Don't. Press the remote. Haul up the covers to shield your eyes. Burrow deep in sand. Their posture bothers you? Oh my! Who the hell are you to tell us whom to listen to?...more

Damn! You know the very things she loathes are the same things that make me more proud than ever that I'm an American. I must be stump stupid!

Oh poor dear. Someone really needs to hand the poor thing a semi-auto 9mm with a single round chambered and allow her to relieve herself. Quick! CALL THE WHAMBULANCE!

What that woman needs is lawful in Oregon. In this one instance it's probably moral as well.

Miss Drabble is a silly snob. I've heard the same list of detestation from domestic snobs. Doesn't like Coca Cola? I can understand--she's a tippler who dwells in Gin Alley--a pint a day rots your liver away. And she's a lousy novelist, too.

Several days ago, I was the first to post the phrase "Drabble Dribble." I claim authorship and I might be retaining a bloodsucking copyright attorney to defend my rights. I'm vey series because this is a hugh issue.

Hey, sport, you can't copyright a title. Anyway, ugly Miss Drabble writes drivel. If only her opinions weren't all too common in Blighty and the oh so sophisticated EU, we could ignore her. But things being how they are, let's heap ridicule on her and them.

Take care, pal. You may be surprised when the potent pettifoggers, Messrs. Solitary, Poor, Nasty, Brutish, & Short litigate all over you.
