DOHA, Qatar - An al- Qaida commander warned that the terror network was about to carry out major attacks in Saudi Arabia in an e-mail just a day before the deadly assault in the Saudi capital, an Arab magazine reported.

The al-Qaida operative, who identified himself as Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, wrote in an e-mail Sunday to the London-based Al-Majalla magazine that al-Qaida has stored arms and explosives and set up "martyrdom" squads in Saudi Arabia to launch what he described as a "guerrilla war" on its leaders and the United States.

I still think we ought to hold that meteorite they worship hostage with an ICBM.

What we are witnessing is the death of a culture and the death of a religion. Islam has always depended on fear and ignorance to maintain its grip on power. With modern communications, that is becoming impossible. These are the death throes of an unviable culture. If Islam has so much confidence in its truth, why does it feel the need to threaten everyone who leaves it with death?

Echoes the old: "What did Bush know and when did he know it?"

Dear Washington Post: The US State Department put up warnings on the web as early as May 5 about credible info of attacks in Saudi Arabia.

"...Credible information has indicated terrorist groups may be planning attacks against U.S. interests in the Middle East. Terrorist actions may include suicide operations, bombings or kidnappings. While conventional weapons such as explosive devices are a more immediate threat in many areas, use of non-conventional weapons, including chemical or biological agents must be considered a possible threat. Terrorists do not distinguish between official and civilian targets. Increased security at official U.S. facilities has led terrorists and their sympathizers to seek softer targets such as residential areas, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, hotels, schools, outdoor recreation events, resorts and beaches."

Just spoke with my brother who's a trader with one of the bigger financial firms... There's a rumour at his trade desk that there was some kind of an explosion in DC? Can anyone confirm?

Al-Qaida Operative Warned of Attacks

What could possibly happen that al-Qaida has NOT warned of?

That's why I hit auto-excerpt. I thought it would automatically excerpt the article. From now on I'll just do it myself.

I'd agree with this except that Islam has spread throughout the world. Look at Indonesia and the Philippines, even France. If it's dying out, why has it been continually spreading?

Uncontrolled immigration. Perversity/diversity policies. Prison religion. General nihilistic appeal. I'm waiting for Wahhabi rap.

Exactly. We could just as well write a headline that says:

Media Fails to Advise Americans of State Dep't Warnings- Scores dead.

They were too busy with important things like the carrier landing I guess...

So here it goes. Al Qaeda is soundly defeated along with their Taliban brothers in Afghanistan then we take out Saddam and they view this a the second major humiliation. So now they take on the Gulf States. Makes perfect sense. Bin Laden has wanted to scalp the Saudi Princes for a very long time. He would love to have that country turned into his new stomping ground the say way he had much of Afghanistan. There is a very real and very personal grudge match with Bin Laden and the House of Saud.

Now the question is - will the Arab states stop paying extorsion money to these thugs to keep them off their back and take them on once and for all? Saudi Princes have the most to loose in the immediate term. They should be the first to really crack down. Let's watch them closely for clues as to what the rest of the Gulf States do. They could well be a bellweather for what the future holds. In the mean time - a firm grip on Iraq (if possible) might not be such a bad idea.

And, the possibility of more Bin Laden stikes on the US are definately a more likely possibility.

I think that since the Afghan war started, before and during the Iraqi war, we have had at least two warnings from al Qaeda per day around the world.

Remember all the dire warnings of what would happen in the UK and the US if we dared to drop a single bomb on Iraq.
