Cut Men: Do They Not Bleed?

Male bashing -- the stereotyping of men as brutal, stupid or otherwise objectionable -- is commonplace. Our sons, husbands, fathers and men-friends are gleefully slandered because they are male. They are subjected to malicious jokes and attitudes that would be decried if directed at blacks, Hispanics or women. The assault against men must stop. But how?

Both of those states are to blame. Kalifornia is too liberal, and N.J is busy stealing elections. Plus the stupid N.J. voters that relocated to Florida.

Sir . The long and the short of it is most men here do not celebrate victimhood . And I do believe this is the case of men throughout this country .

As far as that goes I believe women want a man to accept his role and be a man .

After reading through this thread, it seems pretty clear that the bashing goes both ways.

...only on FR, otherwise male-bashing has been institutionalized just about everywhere else.

Um, Wendy? We're doing just fine without your liberal time-wasting nonsense. Save it for somebody who cares.

What do you mean We're; who do you speak for?

Wendy is probably more conservative than you are - she's obviously more informed, that is, if you describe her writing as 'nonsense'. When you get your work published on the Fox News website on a regular basis, then maybe you'll have a little credibility to speak for 'us'.

If you're a kid trying to make sense of the world, these never-ending messages that there is something basically wrong with you can be unnerving, because it appears that it's all true. It's on TV, it's in the comics, you see and hear adults saying these things all the time. I don't think it's healthy to be doing this on such a widespread basis. Even kids understand that jokes are jokes, but that's not what goes on with this stuff. It's presented as science, or common knowledge. I think it's doing enormous damage to developing minds of both sexes.

You make some valid points here. But there are easy defenses against them.

1st, don't let your kids watch TV. Let them watch a controlled number of videos that you have selected that are age appropriate and don't contain nasty messages.
2nd, homeschool your kids.
3rd, find a good church and make sure your kids enjoy the kid activities and classes.

Problem solved.

Nonsense. The victimization of special interest groups in this country has gone way too far, and I refuse to sit back while some chowderhead tries to add me to the ranks of the whiners. I like being a white man, and I can live with the jealousy. Boycotting companies who engage in "male bashing" is for fruitcakes.

And the fact that you value Wendy's opinion because she was published by Fox, or that you think she's somehow more conservative than me shows just how naive you are. She is the editor or ifeminism.com. Ifeminism describes itself as "libertarian feminism." We all know that Libertarianism and Conservatism are certainly NOT the same thing. Personally, I think libertarians are more confused than liberals, but that's another story. Wendy is pro-choice. I value the rights of the unborn as the human beings that they are. Wendy is less of a Conservative than me. I am a white man. Wendy is a woman. I am more informed on what it is like to be a white man. End of story.

When the information is readily available, it would be useful for you to have some idea of what you were talking about before you decided to shoot your mouth off.

That is a good question . For many reasons people weaken in their core Kurdi . I dont have a complete answer for you . It would be to simplistic to say that some folks just quit on life . Lose their spirit . Lose the moral compass they were taught to have .

Far to many factors in the game to nail a single thing down but I will say that the problem is in the taproot of society , at least in the 43 years I've been on this Earth . I'll return to the thread hopefully tonight . I'd like to finish this .

easy defenses

OK, you're from the I've got mine, Jack school of cultural reform, where it doesn't matter if your society falls apart so long as you and yours are doing well. I understand how that works in an agrarian economy, and you are fortunate to live in one. But I wonder if it's an appropriate response for the rest of us, to 21st-century interdependency. If your kid reaches adulthood as one of the 15% of young men who can read, write, and think at an adult level, is that really going to do a lot of good? What is happening to the standard of living of everyone in such a place? We have social engineers deliberately dumbing down our male children. Yours escape. So what? Are other countries doing that to their kids? How will ours compete? There are countries that do that to their girls... look at 'em. Those people want to live in the 7th century, but we don't.

How does this happen? Most people are against this. Why do we have KulturKrap that 80% of the people find offensive blowing through every hole in the media and academia? Because the people pushing the crap are crusaders, and the rest of us haven't cared. Now we have Fisting Instructors in our grammar schools, and people wonder how it came to this.

Simple. Just take your kids out of school. Be a prisoner in your own country. Let jerks who have near-total opposition to what they are doing continue to run society's institutions while the rest of us hide in caves. What kind of "easy" is that?

but all the good ones of my generation are already taken and with the way the sex-laws (harrassment, rape), divorse laws and child-support laws are in this country. I cannot take the risk right now in my life. I don't have the money for a lawyer right now.

Hear, hear! Isn't that the truth!

Nope. I don't fit your statement. I was merely pointing out that as parents, we have to protect our kids from cultural pollution and pointing out some simple techniques. The fact is that we have hundreds of cable channels now, not 3 (or 5) VHF and 2 or 3 fuzzy UHF channels as was the case years ago. Permitting kids to just get on and watch TV is foolish. Beyond that, exposing them to a good church is a form of vaccination against the cultural pollution they will be exposed to.

Regarding some of your other points -- fact is, most schools don't have "Fisting instructors" or much of the other extremist ideology. For those who can, home school. For those who can't home school, move to an area where the schools are not run by Socialists. Which is most places.

Remember -- any far out, wierd, nutso thing that happens is likely to be posted here as evidence of the decay of our civilization. Like those who only watch CNN become warped in their viewpoint, those whose only experience with schools (maybe they don't have kids and don't participate in their PTA) comes from this Forum will have a very biased view of schools. Guess what -- most schools aren't cultural swamps. Although they are too expensive. It is easy to see all the wierd stuff that happens around the whole country getting posted here and assume that the schools as a whole are a disaster area. Yet....at least where I live...they aren't. Of course I don't live on the left coast.

wavethatflag: Nonsense.

disclaimer: Good opening, describes your ramblings perfectly.

wavethatflag: The victimization of special interest groups in this country has gone way too far, and I refuse to sit back while some chowderhead tries to add me to the ranks of the whiners.

disclaimer: So, you’re whining about it now? The article isn’t about adding men to the list of victims, it’s about facing facts.

wavethatflag: I like being a white man, and I can live with the jealousy.

disclaimer: I can’t imagine there are many out there who are jealous of you. But, if you think there are, feel free to gloat to yourself.

wavethatflag: Boycotting companies who engage in "male bashing" is for fruitcakes.

disclaimer: That’s really good information you have there. I’ll bet you didn’t ‘sit back’ to come up with that information. I suppose you did some kind of study to come up with the fruitcake demographic.

Truth is, you’d rather be passive, that’s what you’re actually saying. Sit-back sort of passive - that’s your style because you’re a cool white guy whom people are jealous of because you are, well, a white guy.

wavethatflag: And the fact that you value Wendy's opinion because she was published by Fox, or that you think she's somehow more conservative than me shows just how naive you are. She is the editor or ifeminism.com. Ifeminism describes itself as "libertarian feminism."

disclaimer: She is accomplished in countering the socialist feminist movement in this country and has taken the heat for it. She doesn’t passively sit back and expect others to do it for her. Christine Hoff Sommers, mentioned in the article, is also to be respected for her work. They’re certainly not passive sit back sort of people.

wavethatflag: We all know that Libertarianism and Conservatism are certainly NOT the same thing. Personally, I think libertarians are more confused than liberals, but that's another story.

disclaimer: Thank you for not sharing the story; your opinion would subject those unprepared for such dribble to certain insanity, and probably bring the IQ down a few notches of those who otherwise would be able to deal with your chest beating incoherent ramblings.

wavethatflag: Wendy is pro-choice. I value the rights of the unborn as the human beings that they are.

disclaimer: This is the first thing you said so far that truly puts Wendy in an unfavorable light. I want your source for this if it is true.

wavethatflag: Wendy is less of a Conservative than me. I am a white man. Wendy is a woman. I am more informed on what it is like to be a white man. End of story.

disclaimer: Now you sound like the feminists who want women leading government and business since, golly, they are women and only they are informed on what it is to be a women.

wavethatflag: When the information is readily available, it would be useful for you to have some idea of what you were talking about before you decided to shoot your mouth off.

disclaimer: What information, that Wendy is a woman as you established in the last paragraph? You’re the one who opened with ‘nonsense’, and you kept your word. I respect you for that much.
