SquawkBack Poll: President Hillary Clinton?
|
|
|
She's better known than many of the declared Democratic candidates. Is it time for her to run?
|
|
Hillary Clinton is only a first-term senator, but she has the kind of name recognition other candidates envy. And that's causing a bit of a problem for the Democratic Party.
In some polls, Sen. Clinton leads the gaggle of declared Democratic contenders for the 2004 nomination, making some wonder about the strength of the field. Meanwhile, her stature most likely will grow with the June release of her memoirs.
Of course Clinton also often receives high negative ratings in polls, which could hurt her if she ever decided to run for president.
When do you think Clinton should run for president? Tell Squawk Box what you think. Register your vote on the left, and e-mail Squawk Box to explain your thoughts.

Actually, I hope that she does run in 2004, although I doubt that she will. The reasons are many:
(1) She'd be a lot easier to beat in 2004. By 2008, many of her and her wife's scandels will be forgotten. Her chances in 2008 are better if she doesnt show her vulnerability in 04.
(2) In her 2000 Senate race, she promised repeatedly that she wouldn't run for higher office untill after her Senate term ends. Breaking that pledge might help us defeat her in her reelection bid in 2006. Yeah, I know that she's going to be next to impossible to beat in NY State, but there's always hope.
(3) Hitlery in 2004 will drive the Rat Party even further left. The farther left that the rats go, the better our chances of picking up enough Senate seats to have a filibuster proof Senate.
(4) Defeating her in Nov 2004 will reflect poorly on the Bill Clinton presidency. One more nail in the Clinton legacy would always be nice.

I wish she would, too, but I think she'll wait until she thinks she won't be as much of a polarizing figure as she is today. She knows that people have short memories.
I voted "never", but would have voted "2004" if I had any hope at all that she would run that soon.
This poll is good until tomorrow -- some may want to add their comments after they vote. I did. :)
Bump!

"Pretty clear what investors that watch CNBC think of the Hildabeast." I love it! The talking heads were laughing about the emails they've received on the subject, and said that this is the highest response they have EVER had to a poll question.

Our belief that Hillary Rodham is an easy adversary will be our defeat.
If you hope she runs, then where will be the protest, the outrage, the rallies condemning her wickedness?
The Right is going to be giggling in a corner, thrilled that the Clinton's are going to lose.
If we don't see Hillary Rodham Clinton as an ENEMY of freedom, why should anyone else see her that way?
President Hillary.
She's going to Win because of people like you.

Hillary Rodham has GREAT
plans for America.
The FIRST Woman President
will destroy us.
Not because she's a woman.
But because this one ....
IS EVIL.
If a man were this obvious we'd
laugh our heads off..
But, the blonde hair, makeup and
movie-star presentations are
going to let WICKED HIllary slip
into Office whether we want her
or not.

How right you are!
