[history]
May 12, 2003 -- WHILE the United States and its allies debate whether or not to celebrate their victory in Iraq, they are ignoring a possibly more important success in the broader war on terrorism.
Those who have to take off their shoes at airports might not believe it. But the fact is that acts of terrorism fell by almost half from 2001 to 2002 - for the lowest figure since 1969.

"...there were 170 to 199 "acts of global terrorism" in 2002. There were no acts of terror in the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, designated as special targets for the wrath of such outfits as al Qaeda. "
And the reason is:
PRESIDENT
GEORGE W. BUSH
No wonder America's enemies--those who hate America, both Americans and people of other countries--hate President Bush so viciously!
No wonder those who love America and all that she stands for thank God that George W. Bush is President!

There were no acts of terror in the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, designated as special targets for the wrath of such outfits as al Qaeda. We have to remember that it was a profound lack of respect, not anger which was the pivotal precondition to 9-11. Our reaction shocked them, and apparently has killed our enemy's resolve.
Recruiting is at a standstill because who wants to die only to bring devastation and humiliation to your region, and shame to your family for failing in your mission?
The "Arab street", once ululating in celebration, is now reduced to loud bluster while whispering it's call for restraint.
To: kattracks
But the Democrats say that we are ignoring the war on terror. Would they lie?

The odds that we'll receive a nuke and have to exchange them with saudi arabia in some quantity over the next few years is a safe bet.
The bad guys have 1400 years of violent society behind them. Taking out iraq isn't gonna phase em.

And he did it without "nuking Mecca" which has to be a disappointment to a lot of FR.Not to worry, they'll always have you to endlessly drone on about it. Meanwhile, life goes on:
There were no acts of terror in the United States, the United Kingdom or Australia, designated as special targets for the wrath of such outfits as al Qaeda.
There we all were, doing "Brace yourself, Brigette" alerts, and those fearful fleas could do nothing more than bluster (although there was the ridiculous attempted shoe bombing). Not that the little buggers can't try something else, but the big one is behind them, sort of like the U.S. after Pearl Harbor.

Excellent news. Surely the media started all of their morning hour with this repeated over and over.
To: kattracks
VERY impressive. And all because we were smart enough to elect George W. Bush as our President.

But the fact is that acts of terrorism fell by almost half from 2001 to 2002 - for the lowest figure since 1969. More important is the worldwide crackdown on alleged terrorists, which has landed more than 4,000 people in prison in 32 countries, or in camps like the Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.
Good news. The terrorists must think twice before committing any acts of terror against America since it doesn't consist of just blowing themselves up but there is a ripple effect with consequences for their group, their associates and even to their countries.
