I haven't followed the Human Soceity over the years (although my husbands grandmother gave them money. What I know for sure is that Susan Hagood spoke at the PA Re-Wilding conference in February (see the notes at
http://www.nittanynews.com/ ). She was listed as representing the Humane Society of the US, and clearly bought into the radical agenda of returning the Americas to a pre-Columbian state. I was somewhate surprised, but no more surprised than seeing an offical representative of the Audubon Society there, agreeing with the 're-wilding' concept.
It has changed MY views of the danger of these organizations...
