It seemed odd that she'd pass up some environmentally correct TV exposure, until GM Veep Beth Lowery told us why: The former first lady fessed up that it's been at least seven years since she last drove and this wasn't the time to start.

W only gets to drive on the Ranch. He just loves to pile into the truck with another head of state with the wives in the back.

That would put her behind the wheel around 1995 or 1996, while she was First Lady. Based on this, I don't think we can attribute the lack of driving to Secret Service restrictions.
