It's a Byrd, S-3B Viking -- it's Taco Bell's dog
Orlando Sentinel ^ | 5/11/03 | Kathleen Parker

Sometimes the best political strategy is simply to stand still and allow yourself to be attacked by the wrong guy.

snip

We are witness to such a phenomenon as George Bush -- cheered, regaled and not-bad in his Top Gun duds -- finds his form-fitting aviator pants leg in the clenched teeth of Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., playing the Taco Bell Chihuahua to Bush's Rin Tin Tin.

snip

As one-two punches go, the Byrd/Waxman sally was a bad day for nerds everywhere. Performing a whiney duet of the desperate, they managed to evoke images of skinny boys studying the quarterback's swagger for clues on cool. It's almost as painful to watch them contort in envy as it must have been for them to watch Bush, a stud muffin no matter what his other flaws, arriving on a testosterone bullet to the cheers of 5,000 sailors.

Not to mention the living-room applause of an appreciative nation not nearly as perplexed as pleased by the pageantry clearly intended. Who cares if it was a photo op? It's our photo op, which the other envy-boys around the world also got to see.

snip

By attacking the right guy at the wrong time, Byrd and Waxman not only have harmed their cause, but aided the Bush ascendancy. For now the president is not only a daring jet rider, he's a victim of empty criticism. The hero-victim doesn't have to do anything but stand still -- and no doubt fight the urge to say, "Yo quiero a Waxman and Byrd."

Well, let's face it, if a woman was voting on looks alone (and sadly some are that shallow) which one do YOU think she'd choose?

Comparing Kathleen to the elderly schoolgirl, Maureen Dowd, one sees what extremes Ireland is capable of.

What I see as the difficulty is the fact that the dems don't realize the media cannot protect their stupid statments any more. They used to be able to say this stuff with impunity, because the media would not hold them accountable for their statements. IT'S ALL CHANGED SINCE 9/11. x42 has been exposed for the idiot he is, and the "new" media on the block is ready, willing and able to expose all the LEFTY LIES.

The real difficulty is - THE LIBERALS/DEMS have not figured this out yet. The dems are still playing (as Rush says) by THE OLD PLAYBOOK. The dems have not figured out this stuff no longer works to their advantage. This issue with the carrier is such a classic example - this is only hurting the dems more and more.

"We must not deter the onward race to the cliff"

ROTFLOL! Great line!

Also ... in front of the "onward race" is the leader - x42 and his goons (which includes Hitlery).

"Once again Senator Byrd flies over the coco nest".

LOL! I think they need to up the senator's meds before they let him speak publicly again.

Well ... I was surprised to see Chris showing a video clip of x42 arriving via helo upon a carrier in a flight jacket. Chris was laughing and made some disparaging remarks about x42 not being able to fit in a flight suit, as well as a comment about the dems complaining about something a dem president had also done. It was truly amazing!

As hard as it is to do, I must defend Weasley to an extent. From what I heard, he was practicing for a promo for keeping the Winston (all-star NASCAR race) in the Charlotte area, which would be good for the area, the state, and the racing teams. He did not do this simply for the sake of showing off.

Credit where credit is due. Personally, I wouldn't have had the guts to do what he did.

You have a very pretty state down there, btw.

" Plus the Dems chose to send out their two least attractive people to complain and gripe."

Oh please, the RATs have a virtual cornucopia of unattractive people. Whoever is the most unattractive at any given time is directly proportional to which ones are being allowed to talk.

Love that line.

***Who cares if it was a photo op? It's our photo op, which the other envy-boys around the world also got to see.***

Precisely! Every leader of every country in the world is eaten alive with envy. "Why him? Why not ME?" Having well-armed, well-trained troops makes an impression, but when they're led by a STRONG man, it rips through the atmosphere covering the whole globe.

And, Ohio, thanks for the ping. I wouldn't have wanted to miss this.

Yes! And ... in case people haven't noticed - the people who sent out the hounds (x42 and his goons) are nowhere to be seen - as usual.

"didn't need flight suit"

Somebody better call him on that. I've read somewhere that the flight suit IS REQUIRED MILITARY garb for flight.
