I LOVE AMERICA RALLY

SAT. MAY 17th, DALLAS

OLD RED COURTHOUSE

AND JFK MEMORIAL, 3 PM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

8 May, 2003 Media Contact:
Charles Lingerfelt (972) 286-0606

Dallas, TX - Freedom loving citizens will pour into the streets of downtown Dallas once again on May 17th in support of their country, and to show support for the military troops around the world; especially those involved in the war efforts to liberate the people of Iraq. The local effort is once again being sponsored by the Dallas-based business, Nine Brothers Salsa and other national and local businesses with the "desire to Honor God, America and the Military."

The nationwide effort is being organized with the mission of showing France, Germany, Iraq and the media that the majority of Americans have supported the removal of Saddam Hussein and are willing to stand up to the anti-war enemies within our borders. The support of national corporations, and businesses, is being gathered now to market several events to the North Texas communities over the coming weeks and months, designed primarily to show support to both the troops at home and abroad, as well as giving honor to all veterans who have served the different branches of the military.

The local rally in Dallas will occur at 3 p.m. central time on May 17th in downtown Dallas at the "Old Red" Courthouse building and the JFK Memorial, while national rallies are also being conducted in other cities, in all four time zones. Organizers of local rallies are contacting local media outlets, and soliciting coverage for the events while reminding the press their efforts are a part of the national movement. The National Rally for America Web site is at www.freeper.org

The local rally in Dallas will occur at 3 p.m. central time on May 17th. in downtown Dallas at the "Old Red" Court House building, and the JFK Memorial, while national rallies are also being conducted in other cities, in all four time zones. Organizers of local rallies are contacting local media outlets, and soliciting coverage for the events while reminding the press their efforts are a part of the national movement. The National Rally for America Web site is at www.march30foramerica.us.

"Citizens who are asking what they can do to join the rally effort need look no further than themselves," said Charles Lingerfelt, Executive Director of Nine Brothers.  "The state of Texas calls upon patriots in all fifty states who haven't forgotten 9-11 to organize with their neighbors and show that our President and our troops have our unwavering support and prayers."

Brian Bodine, American Defense Director of YCT-UT, in Austin, has called upon university students to rise up and answer the call of organizing rallies in their local communities.

"For too long, anti-war demagogues inspired by Marxism and a hatred for President Bush have pushed a pro-Saddam agenda on campus," Bodine said. "YCT avails upon reasonable students who love their country to rise up and take back their campuses in one day of national solidarity."

The local sponsoring group is tenaciously seeking national media exposure for the rally by contacting major print outlets as well as television networks such as Fox News, CNN and MSNBC, Lingerfelt said.

"Saddam Hussein and his allies in France, Germany and Russia have seen the cameras capture anti-war protestors here at home and have used them as leverage in protecting a ruthless regime," he further said. "Through reminders of how much a war would cost American citizens, and hollow concessions to inspector demands, which became null and void, many were attempting to capitalize on the public airing of a small faction of un-American citizens that had forgotten genuine evil exists in the world. On May 17th., God, America and the Military will be praised as the silent majority proclaims our country's victory over an evil regime, which reigned for several decades with highlights of deception and terrorism."

The Dallas and North Texas Rally is a family-friendly event, and all the public is cordially invited to attend.  A plethora of North Texas residents, along with those from other regions of Texas who are willing to make the drive to Dallas have already vowed their attendance.  Members of the associated Co-sponsors are working fervently to organizing an inspiring program with high-profile speakers. Details will be forthcoming, and available at the National Rally for America Web site at:

We'll expect pictures. And good ones where you can see faces. The last ones you all posted reminded me of the pictures I took when I went to see the Beatles the first time at Washington Stadium. They looked like ants. :-0

Pictures are SerpentDove's deal. The last time they looked like ants? I'm surprised you could even see ants through all those umbrellas! When there are 3,000+ people, you have to back waaaaaaaay up to get them all in the picture. ;)

We're supposed to have beautiful weather tomorrow. :D

Ants? Come on Howlin...you either get in good and close with a camera or you take a big crowd shot...in fairness, don't you think these are a reasonable mixture of the two? Sheesh.

:-)

These Cub Scouts were actually passersby who did not aprticipate in the rally.
I (SerpentDove) was holding a large flag on an 8-foot pole, when the boys saw the flag flying from across the street.
Spontaneously, they all jumped up on the little cement cylinders, put their hands over their hearts, and started saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
It was really something. I had to run over for a photo. I said "Okay, boys, the Pledge of Allegiance!"
Then I snapped this picture.

This is a shot of the hippy-dippy peacnik protestors.
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Do not adjust your monitor. There are only two of them.
I think later in the rally, the number skyrocketed to seven. Maybe it was six.
I was never good with numbers.

This is a little Kurdish girl.
There were very many Kurdish citizens in attendance, who were all exrtemely passionate
and extremely vocal about ousting Saddam Hussein. Many carried photos of the atrocities committed by the Iraqi regime.
The emotion they expressed was palpable.

Elm Street. The JFK Memorial is in the background.

Kurdish citizens.

These are the peace protestors again. I mean, protestor. Maybe the other one went for a bite to eat.
Thankfully the barricades were there to keep the huge, bloodthirsty mobs of peacniks from attacking us.

ASSORTED RALLY PHOTOS:

I had to censor that one for the kiddies.

FReeper Strela

Charles Lingerfelt, rally coordinator.

President Bush and two of his friends made a surprise appearance. Oh, and I'm diggin' that poster.

Kurdish children take the platform.

I like this guy. His shirt says, "God Bless Harry Truman."
I asked him about it, and he said, "Harry Truman saved my life. I was about to be sent into Japan when he dropped the bomb and ended the war."
Come to think of it, he saved MY life, and I wasn't even born yet.

U.S. Representative Pete Sessions, Tx.
His father is former FBI Director William Sessions.

One of the most moving things in the whole rally was the constant honking of horns in support of
our responsibilities in Iraq. The noise was incessant, the cheers were breathtaking.

There must be about eleven peaceniks back there now. Okay, so I lied.
I told you I was never good with numbers.
