Vanity Fair Atricle on Robert Byrd (BARF!)
Vanity Fair ^ | Unk

Has anyone seen the current issue of Vanity Fair (with Hugh Grant on the cover)? On page 120, Sen. Robert Byrd is featured in the Hall of Fame section (*ahem* more like Hall of SHAME). I came across the article while waiting in the dentist office. I cannot find the article online anywhere to share but did a search and found a blurb on the current issue's table of contents.

It starts off with: Senator Robert C. Byrd, Congress's 85-year-old elder, whose outspoken criticism of the rush to war showed a courage rare on Capitol Hill...

I cannot seem to read the article, but an 85 year old Senator blubbering about the Commander in Chief does not show courage. Lately, many people confuse blubbering with courage. What is the deal??

The media just loves to shower this college dropout turned Klansman, pork-lovin' senial old politician with praise. He's always the Senate's foremost "constituional authority", "concisence of the Senate", and show's great "courage and independance". What exactly he did to achieve all these titles (unless you consider filibusting the civil rights act to death to be a good thing) is beyond me.

And the libs are now insisting the media "really" has a conservative bias. If the media hyped 1/10th of the true news items about Byrd, public opinion would be up in arms over this guy.

Senator Byrd does not understand the Executive branch of government. President Bush as the commander in chief, landed on the deck of one of "his" aircraft carriers, in one of "his" airplanes and addressed "his" military personnel. It was heroic and his "right" to do so.

Senator Byrd is a mean spirited self absorbed ego maniac who used to be in the Ku Klux Klan......

Ahh, Senator Kleagle is just sore that the carrier couldn't be named after him, like everything else in West Virginia.

If it makes you feel any better, I vented on him most thoroughly this morning (before 6:00 a.m.) with a most critical e-mail. Granted, this old fart stain of a man won't read his e-mails, but it felt good to vent, I say! I strongly urge you to do so likewise. There's a website (search on Google) for votesmart, and it leapfrogs you right to these wrong-doers e-mail addresses. If you're lucky and a quick typist, you can vent 5 to 6 times before heading in for work!!!!!
