Poland earned it, they stood up for Freedom. Socialist Worker's parties sure don't like taking orders from free men. Understandable.

GERMANY has responded angrily to a proposal that its troops be deployed in northern Iraq under the command of Poland,... Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Sounds like the Germans still have a few Master Race hang-ups to work out. Springtime for Kwasnieski and Poland. Winter for Schroder and France.

Perhaps we should insert an intermediary in the chain of command between the Polish leaders and the subordinate Germans. Might I suggest the Singaporeans.

Let's see DU tackle this one. Let's also see photos of Poles in service at Iraq theatre. Any acknowledgement is missing thusfar in mainstream American press.

A most delicious development! I think my smile will last at least through the morning tomorrow.

GERMANY has responded angrily to a proposal that its troops be deployed in northern Iraq under the command of Poland, one of the newest members of Nato. Eff off, Fritz. I don't think anybody invited you anyway.

What's Gerhardt's problem with Poland anyway? Does he think it's still the era of the Third Reich? Oh...I forgot...yes he does.

"France and Germany do not find it easy to accept the Nato and EU newcomers as equals." Since when has France become an active member of NATO? I don't ever recall having them involved with my units in any exercises in Western Europe. I think they had a unit near Landstuhl as I ran into a few of their arrogant officers. I may be wrong as it was almost 25 years ago.

The notion that a Polish captain can give orders to a German soldier will take some getting used to. Old prejudices die hard.
"Have you heard a good Polish joke lately?"
Poland is not a joke anymore, and she is posed to become an economic powerhouse in the next decade.

Perhaps we should e-mail the Polish newspaper mentioned in the article and let them know ordinary Americans appreciate their contribution. Maybe they'll share with their readers.

France and Germany do not find it easy to accept the Nato and EU newcomers as equals. Neither did Napoleon or Hitler.

Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.
The Poles are a couple of steps ahead of you.

We should cut way back on third world immigration and encourage more eastern Europeans to come here!
