In the interest of fair play, I feel like it's my duty to remind Senator Byrd of this incident:
A White House memo, dated June 16, 1994, concerning preparations for President Clinton's trip to Normandy for the 50th anniversary of D-Day:
MEMORANDUM FOR ALL STAFF WHO STAYED ON THE USS GEORGE WASHINGTON
- FROM:
- ISABELLE R. TAPIA
- MICHAEL R. LUFRANO
- OFFICE OF SCHEDULING AND ADVANCE
RE: Reimbursement for Items Removed from the Ship The executive officer of the USS George Washington has relayed that a number of items were removed from Staterooms on the ship during the White House visit. The following items are unaccounted for:
13 Blue Towels with GW Insignia |
$11 each |
4 GW Bathrobes with Insignia |
$35 each |
12 Plain White Bathrobes |
$15 each |
55 White Towels |
$1.80 each |
As you know, the ship and the U.S. Navy served as our gracious hosts during this trip. They provided these items for our use, not as souvenirs. They have requested reimbursement of $562 from the White House for the above items.
If you are responsible for removing one or more of these items from the ship, please remit payment to Michael Lufrano in Room 185 of the OEOB. Make any checks payable to the USS George Washington. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call either of us at 456-7560 or Capt. Rogers at 456-2150.

WTG Howlin, They want to call Bush "Shameless" for landing aboard the Lincoln, thanking the troops and speaking to the nation.
Lets talk about the $90,000 worth of furniture Clinton and the pear legged wide glide he is married to, stole from the White House

The President assumed the "garb" necessary to fly in that aircraft with safety. Any democrat politician flying in that plane would be so outfitted. (that is if they let vermin in military equipment)
Also, the president is the head of ALL the warriors that this country employs. He DID NOT assume a uniform or medals or heavens sake!

There is one pic, I wish I had, when the rapist was in Bosnia(?) and he was walking through camp in his leather jacket with all the military officers walking behind him.
Don't forget the famouse Normandy Beach photo-op.

Howlin, I'll mass email this to the usual suspects... I haven't done any research, but the cost of Clinton's eight-year travels was a hot talk radio topic in my pre-web days, and I recall the figure of a billion ( yow! ) dollars for him and all those smarmy camp-followers he dragged along.

Yes. And what kind of "garb" do you suppose the has-been astronaut wore? And how much did that cost us?

Just watching FOX - Brit Hume - the panel is laughing at all the dems antics. This will do more to stop the dem onslaught than anything.

What was the cost of the preparation for the photo op at the Grand Canyon, where trees and shrubs were removed to give a clear picture of the canyon?
What was the cost of releasing the water on the river up in New Hampsire so that Al Bore could canoe down the river during the drought?

Don't forget all the pleasure trips the 'world travelers' took at our expense while dragging all their cronies and Webb's daughter along with them.
The most disgusting thing they did was to use our military as servants.

More than that, when I heard about this this morning, I was fuming.
Clinton had been impeached for committing felony crimes. Byrd actually said they were serious, but not serious enough for him to vote to convict.
Now that racist POS wants to hang Bush simply because he arrived on the Lincoln on a Harrier?
That guy is in serious need of a good old fashioned smackdown.
