You've gotta be kidding. This is the THIRD night he is dedicating to that prom. O'Reilly must really be devoid of any ideas.
Why doesn't he talk to some Democrats about the obstruction of Judcial nominees, for instance?
To: katz
So now a prom requires debate? You rent a cheap tux, spike the punch, and stay out too late hoping you make it to second base with your girlfriend. Real meaty debate topic there (sarcasm OFF).

Anyone who questions his hissy fit is accused of racism.
This guy is getting almost as bad as Jesse and Al Sharpton.
He is not used to saying I might be wrong on this.

Neal is going to defend the prom. Everyone knows how out of line Bill was... so I'm watching.

Maybe this is a North-South cultural kind of thing...but I have to say I was pretty shocked reading that
last year was the
first time this
PUBLIC high school had had an integrated prom.
Sorry, but it sounds like something out of the twilight zone.

the actual prom *was* integrated again this year. This 'segregated prom' was a private party separate from the prom. We'll see how Bill and Neal 'listen' to each other. FWIW, my wife grew up in a midwestern town that crowned a white king and queen and a black king and queen, and so on down the homecoming court as well. <> The school was afraid that due to the numbers in the school, only white kids would ever get voted to the throne.

It's a rural/ poor/ class kinda thing. Not a Southern thing.
We have our share of bigoted rednecks here in the South for sure, and folks in the North love to wag fingers at them.
I would tell you that the most bigoted people I ever mey lived in the Boston area and in the suburbs of NYC. (used to live there).

Search for "Alabama" replace with "Georgia"
O'Reily is after Sonny Perdue. And his press secretary. Bill should actually meet Sonny, and then decide whether to attack or not.
Sonny's accent and appearance make him appear as a hick Southern rube. But ...
He is educated as a vet and has a long, successful business and family life.

Boortz is great. He's a pilot, if anybody cares. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes. He had me confused. I thought maybe he had been contacted by the Rev. Jessie.

Okay, I get the Southern thing...but that still doesn't explain how for 31 years they had never had an integrated prom in a PUBLIC High school.
The fact is they apparently tried integration for the first time in 2002. 2002, not 1972 or 1982, or even 1992. Talk about Time Warp.

And after how Perdue went back on his promise he should be chastised. However knowing Bill is fully behind racist groups like the SPLC I seriously doubt he wants Perdue to come on to chastise him for not allowing Georgians to vote on the flag as he promised

Exactly. But it has stuck in Bill's craw. I can understand his position--in an ideal world, but I can see other examples from the other side, as well:
Black History Month (February)
NAACP
Atlanta Country Club (don't know O'reilly's stand on this one)
Black Entertainment Television
O'reilly's making an issue out of a private party. This prom was probably not sanction, nor approved, by the school board. The operative words are private party. Regardless of the overtones.
