Treece said he’s tired of being painted as anti-American simply because he challenges students not to take what anyone – not the president, their parents, or even he – says at face value.

I have never thought it was a teacher's duty to comment on the parent child relationship.  Treece's admission that he tries to get kids to evaluate what their parent say bothers me.

If the child is supposed to evaluate what their parents say, then it stands to reason they are to listen when they want and do whatever they please the rest of the time. Nice work Treece.

I've seen teachers like this.  They sell themselves as the most reasonable person the children have ever met.  Then they push their agenda.  "I don't care what you believe, just make sure you can defend it."  Most kids think, wow, what a cool dude. This guy is very open and HONEST.  If he thinks the president is a putz, he may be.

If Treece is challenged he simply says, "Hey, I'm just teaching kids to think for themselves."  I would disagree.  He is destroying their beliefs system in order to instill his own.  Can his ass.

You don't have to display things like Treece does, to be effective in the classroom.

As for the officer who took the pictures, I do believe he crossed the line.  One the other hand we'd have never been given access to the despicable carp on Treece's classroom walls if the officer hadn't done what he did.  It's a screwed up system that creates a situation where a person has to use subtrifuge simply to investigate what really goes on inside a child's classroom.

The principle is a good example of why our schools are so screwed up.  Is she concerned with the obvious bias of the teacher?  Nope, she couldn't care less.  What bothers her is that her sacred cow has been gored.  "You can't get away with that on MY campus!"  She should follow Treece's lead to the unemployment line.

These unnamed school officials are complete Anti-American slime that should not be feeding off the American taxpayers. The nature of the projects shows that Treece does indoctrinate his students and should be tarred and feathered as a start. His school official enablers, superiors, should probably be more severly punished.

Among the student projects that Mott said he photographed were a poster of the President Bush with duct tape over his mouth and a large papier-mâché combat boot with the American flag stuffed inside stepping on a doll. He said there also were pictures of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro and his former chief lieutenant, Ernesto “Che” Guevara, posted on the walls.

“Having spent 30 years in uniform, I was insulted,” he said. “… I’m just taking a stand on what happens in that classroom as a resident and a voter and a taxpayer of this community.”

“I tell kids from day one: ‘I don’t want you to agree with me, I want you to be informed and think for yourselves,” he said. “I have never squashed dissent in my class in any way shape or form.”

Yeah, okay. I don't suppose the enthusiasm with which Treece "picks holes" would depend on which side of the argument he likes. Oh, no.

I think this guy Treece is a liar and a scumbag.
If I had children in his class I would demand that they be transferred out immediately. Not only because this weirdo's views are so Democrat (yeah, he definitely goes into the polling place and votes for more and more government confiscation... of his neighbors' money), but because anti-capitalist, socialist big-mouths like Treece often have.... other problems. Put it this way: I wouldn't want this guy anywhere near my kids.
