Why was he supposed to enter that building? Was a crime being committed? Was it in his juristiction? No, in both cases. So why was he supposed to enter that building?

"Don't be silly. We have only heard of anti-US, anti-Bush, pro-Fidel and Che posters on the wall, nothing else.
To guess out of the clear blue at anyhing else only makes you sound foolish."

I'm just trying to point out that we don't know the facts here of all of what was in there, and presenting a hypothetical case where publication of 3 or 4 photographs of what was in that classroom could present a misleading apprehension of what was going on.

"About indoctrination"- you're absolutley right. While Joe McCarthy will be vilified for the next month or so, his suspicions about the infiltration of our educational system seem to have come true, regardless, of what those people call themselves. He called them liberals and democrats.

It's OK for him to call Bush an "idiot boy king" - none of which is true, but he gets his feelings hurt when people call him un-American. What a jackass.

You obviously do not live in the communist county of Santa Cruz, if you do not believe there are communists teaching children in school.

Few communists in our county are actual members of the communist party because they know that can get them canned from their government and teaching jobs. They do however become democratic socialists or green party members-- which are thinly disguised communist venues. Since there are no laws about hiring members of the green party, they skirt that issue.

It is true in American History the Revolution is bypassed. The book starts with the reconstruction after the civil war. The japanese internment is so popular with our school district, last year they partnered with the city of Watsonville to do a re-enactment in the town square, including the arrest and removal of actors playing japanese people.

You don't know the half of it, so Please don't insult me by saying that I am whining. You do not know my involvment in the community or the number of hours I spend volunteering on school and community projects.

You have a perfect school, but you don't say where it is. I would like to look up information about it.

Doh!!!! Because I forgot to type 'nt after "was." ;-)

It should have read "wasn't supposed to enter." Nice to see that you read my post, though.

Of course, then you can go to Mark Twain's quote:

"First, God created idiots. That was for practice. Then he created school boards."

There's some truth there, too.

Yes, but you don't know how many pictures of what type were up on that wall. There could have been 20 pictures supporting the USA's current foreign policy, and 3 opposing it. If the pictures are of those 3 only, then a false picture is being painted.

If you believe that after having read about that teacher's political beliefs than you are very gullible.

I never heard of teachers doing anything of this sort when X42 was president. I have seen photos of a number of antiAmerican and antiBush class projects as well as reports of teachers burning their classroom flags and making "we deserved it" statements with regards to 9.11.

Why didn't some parents go in legitimately and take pics? The school is paid for with the community tax monies. Parents have a right to know what their kids are being taught. (For those that don't know, I teach.)

Indeed. This is something I started to notice about this board much more after GWBush was elected. The very same people who would have vilified the clinton administration for a particular action support it because it is being proposed by someone with an (R) by his name.

I guess I'm always suprised at how few people have actual principles. Too many would be all to willing to cheer on just about any action as long as it is proposed by the 'correct' party. From what I've seen over my life, I'm firmly convinced that if you happen to currently be under 40 years of age, you'll probably live to see the day when only the most delusional will be able to claim they don't live in a police state.

We'll have both democrats and (shhh don't say it too loudly here) republican politicians to thank for it. Of course, it won't be exactly the same kind of facist nightmare that we saw in germany last century, as history seldom repeats its lessons exactly, so some will be able to rationalize the steady incremental nibbles of the massive corporate state that will eventually eat their young.

If you could get any 3 libertarians to be able to agree what to have for lunch, they might be a voice against what is coming, but the facts are that trying to effectively organize folks of a libertarian bent is pretty much like herding cats, but less enjoyable.

Actually, being a Communist is not against the law in this country, nor can anyone be fired for being a Communist and being a public school teacher. Nor can they be fired for being a member of the Green Party or any other political party.

You seem to be living in another country that the USA, where people are free to hold unpopular political positions.

You may not like the fact that people can hold political views far from yours, but that does not mean they are breaking any laws.

I disagree with those positions, but I swore an oath when I joined the USAF to defend those people's right to hold any political position they wish, as long as they do not try to overthrow the government by force.

Lots of people disagree with me, but are still US citizens, with all the rights pertaining to that citizenship, even if I think their views are wrong.

I did not say you were whining. You are correct; I do not know what you do in your community. I object to those who whine and do nothing. If you are active, then I fully support your activism.

As for where I am, I will not reveal personal information on Free Republic.
