The Truth About "George W. Bush's Resume"
Curt King

Posted on 05/06/2003 7:42:14 AM PDT by curtking

(Forgive me if this is posted in the wrong area. I'm new at this.)

Some of you may have seen an article known as the "George W. Bush Resume" that's been making its way around cyberspace for the past few months.

"The resume" claims to list the "qualifications", "work experiences", and "accomplishments" of our current President. It is a venomous, sarcastic stab at George W. Bush.

I have created a rebuttal to "the resume". You can find it at:

http://www.crossbearer.com/resume/The_Truth.pdf

For those of you who haven't seen "the resume", this rebuttal will also help you counter the arguments of Democrats and liberals who can't stand to see a successful conservative Republican in the White House.

Enjoy!

Curt

Great point, Trace. I got carried away with doing the math and totally ignored who voted for what.

I shouldn't have given Souter the benefit of the doubt.(g)

Small trivial change needed:

When you mentioned Bush going to Offutt AFB on 9/11, you state that Offutt is the home of the Strategic Air Command.

Prior to June 1st, 1992, that was a true statement. On 6/1/92, the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command was disestablished. Its combat aircraft went to the newly-established Air Force Air Combat Command, its tanker aircraft were transferred to the newly-established Air Force Air Mobility Command, and the headquarters/command-and-control functions went to a new joint command, the United States Strategic Command, aka STRATCOM. STRATCOM's HQ element is at Offutt AFB.

BTW, SAC's missile wings were transferred to the Air Force Space Command.

The problem with al your hard work is that the truth is irrelevant as Joseph Goebbels knew and the democrats reading his playbook well understand.

Most people will not bother researching the details. They will simply take it as a given. Hard leftists will not care, as their hatred for Bush is based on emotion not facts.

What conservatives have to learn is to retaliate in kind and produce resumes on the Dimwits that are our opponents. A weakness on the right is that we try to answer every leftist attack with a well reasoned, researched rebutal that would bore most people to death. We must learn the art of cliches and 15 second soundbites. That's what moves those low IQ voters at the center whose vote we need to keep the democratic wolves at bay.

>>Got some time on our hands, have we? Good stuff, though!

Thanks! My wife graciously gave up three evenings for me to work on this and I felt it was important.

P.S. My last name is King--are we related? :-)

Kudos to your good wife!

"King" is a title not a surname but there may be a connection: have you ever been shot with a BB gun while filling a bird feeder? Do you occasionally scamper around in the attic for no reason? Do you have unexplained hesitations while crossing a road?

I'd have that checked if I were you.

Excellent work my friend. These types of rebuttals are much needed by those of us who often go up against arrogont and ignorant liberals. I love to smack them in the face with the facts, and see their faces turn..

Some of my ancestors have been called "squirrely" and near to where I'm from in SC there's a town named "Possum Kingdom". Does that count?

Huge thank you! I am in awe of the amount of work you've done to find the TRUTH. Your facts and dispassionate presentation is more than effective. Please send this to all media outlets and the RNC. I'd like to see it receive more than the light of day on FR. Mega thanks again.

Thanks for the terrific job you did!

I saw the so-called "Bush Resume" posted on message boards, which is nothing but outrageous liberal lies, I didn't tackle it, because there were just too many lies to counter each one point by point.

I am glad you took the time and effort. You did a great job. I bookmarked it, and also posted it on some other boards, and e-mailed it around.

It's a full time job debunking the liberals lies.

GWB needs no resume he is a proven performer.

-----

Apparently you didn't see that absolutely outrageous piece done by liberals, titled "Bush Resume". There must be some 30-50 specific lies about Bush in it, stated as facts.
Curt King has debunked them item by item. That's why he called "Bush Resume" referring to that liberal trash, that so far has been going around unchallenged. I am keeping it for reference, so when liberals post their lies as specific items, I can just pull this out as reference.

No didn't see that liberal crap and debunking liberal crap is fine but I don't need it because I know crap when I see crap. The liberals who write and read the crap don't care if it's debunked because they don't care for facts anyway. I tried to go to Curt King's link but never could get it to come up. I'd like to read the liberal one though so I could see what kind of crap they are spewing now. GWB is the man.

Thank you for all of your hard work! It is greatly appreciated.

A couple of points, though.

1) In a couple of places, it seemed that you were "damning with faint praise", as the saying goes. The first place was in the beginning when you were talking about his career in the oil industry. What many people don't know is how volatile the oil industry is, and that many people do "tank" (no pun intended) if they're not in it for a successful cycle. This was a timing thing, and certainly not his fault. You could compare how other oil "barons" were doing at this time, both in terms of exploration and development for this same period and get a clearer picture.

The other place where I thought you got caught in "their" web of describing things was the "formal" press conferences issue. This is an issue only for the whiny members of the press. This is a President who has been in front of the American people for speeches, policy speeches, speeches about ideas, plans, and the issues facing the public more so than any other I can remember. And what other President has had a Secretary of Defense who had DAILY briefings with the press? And CentCom? I prefer my President do his job instead of answering petty, partisan and snide jibes from the press. Bush rises above all that. What WOULD be an interesting rejoinder is how many of President Bush's speeches (in comparison to other Presidents) has the press REFUSED to cover? That should shut up the whining.

The last area like this was about Bush getting elected governor of Texas based on name recognition. It is good that you mentioned some of the names who likewise had good name recognition, but you left out many (Baldacci, Pryor, Carnahan, Kennedy, Townsend). What is even more important, though, is the incredible overwhelming majorities Governor Bush drew on his re-election, once he'd proved himself. Contrast the former President, who was kicked out of the Governor's office AFTER he'd had a chance to mess with Arkansas. And time will tell whether Hillary's negatives will diminish her chances of re-election.

2. Another poster mentioned about the Supreme Court composition on Bush v. Gore, and how Souter was not part of the majority. The Dems can stuff that one too, as far as I am concerned.

Again, great post! (I hope you don't think I'm being too nitpicky; this wasn't intended to detract from your fine work!)

Thanks ... it was difficult to decide which of the hundreds of images to put on the 32 stamps. Then coming up with the annotation. I hope folks get a sense for the entire operation and its true impact from that set.

Best FRegards.

Outstanding work, good fellow. You are to be commended!

The feedback here on the minor nits is also quite valuable. I hope your good wife allows you one more evening to compile and issue an updated (or annotated) version! :)

Keep up the great work!

You sure did put a lot of time and effort into this. I've read about 15 pages and skimmed quickly over the rest. Your rebuttles are thorough and well thought out. This is definitely a keeper. Thank you.
