The mother of a Laguna Hills woman accused of making a high-seas terrorist threat says she wouldn't have posted bail for her daughter even if a judge had granted it. Debra Ferguson tells the Los Angeles Times she could not risk her family's financial health by posting bail for her daughter, whom she calls a ``brat.''
Twenty-year-old Kelley Ferguson is accused of planting threatening notes aboard the Legend of the Seas in an effort to get the cruise ship to return to California so she could be reunited with her boyfriend. She was ordered held without bail after a prosecutor argued she is a flight risk.
Ferguson is charged with two counts of threatening acts of terrorism, and could face as much as ten years in prison on each charge.
Debra Ferguson says her daughter ``is going to have to stay in jail and learn her lesson.''

Some great boyfriend, eh? Didn't see his sociopathic butt at the hearing.
What is the attraction of these criminal low-lifes?
I see so many women who made so many bad choices like this stupid, selfish girl.. left with severe ADHD monster kids and no child support from the low life father, long gone.

I hope whatever punitive damage this twit has to pay is enough to cover the cost of the 120 agents, as well as reimburse the cruise line for their troubles and expenses.

I agree, she definitely has some problems, obviously histrionic being one of them.

The Legend of the Seas departed Ensenada on April 18 with 1,668 passengers and 701 crew members Is this a normal passenger/crew ratio on a cruise ship?

She should make restitution. Cleaning toilets for a year on the cruise ship and changing her last name to avoid embarrassing the mother would be a start.
However, this loser will end up pregnant, unmarried, on welfare, and a democrat voter for the next 50 years would be my sad prediction.

Well, after viewing the phote, it appears to me this girl has very little going for her. Ugly AND stupid - maybe she should desperately try to hang on to whatever guy she's currently with.

I share your amazement. If only more parents would refuse to "enable" their ne'er-do-well kids, and stop bailing them out of every (self-created) difficulty in their lives!

"I wonder how the boyfriend feels now that he knows she is just a kook?"She's in high school. He's 23. He already knew what she was like before the cruise. They're both whack jobs. The only sane one is the mother.

maybe she should desperately try to hang on to whatever guy she's currently with. LOL!! I'm kind of thinking the same thing ---and obviously she realized the same thing.

Is this a normal passenger/crew ratio on a cruise ship?
Yes. It's normally between 2:1 and 3:1.

She's in high school? She's 20 years old The article says "attended Laguna Hills High School," past tense, and that she's now an office worker and sponging on the parents.

"She's in high school? She's 20 years old"From the second article posted above --
Jim Ferguson said his daughter attended Laguna Hills High School and had been dating a 23-year-old man for the past two years.
In addition to her other problems, she can't seem to finish high school. At 23, her boyfriend sounds just as immature as she is. But I have a feeling she's about to get a real loud wake-up call from a government that has no sense of humor about terrorist threats. None.
To: Bonaparte
...I'm....speechless...still not sure if the article meant to say she still attends or attended in the past (and has done nothing since, which would not be a surprise). A small point in either case.
To: wideminded
Is this a normal passenger/crew ratio on a cruise ship? Actually, the Legend of the Seas will carry 2200 passengers, so the ratio of crew:passengers is a bit heavy.
