The April 27 Style article about the White House correspondents' dinner reported on the lack of Hollywood antiwar activists at the event, noting in contrast with a distinct descriptive paragraph that "the main protest that took place outside the dinner was about . . . tax cuts" by the Fair Taxes for All Coalition, a liberal group opposed to President Bush's proposed tax cuts.
Not reported was a larger, more boisterous demonstration held at the same time across the street from the anti-Bush group. That protest, organized by the conservative D.C. chapter of FreeRepublic.com, criticized liberal bias in the media and featured the announcement of the winners of Free Republic's Garofalo Awards.
SNIP
Reporting only the liberal protest outside the dinner and ignoring the larger conservative one helps to once again reinforce your paper's reputation for liberal bias.

*** Once submitted, the letter becomes their's. When they publish it, it really becomes their's. ***
Couldn't you post the letter here as, "This is what I wrote to the WP"?

If you but print out your letter and send it via "real" mail, it still belongs to you no matter how many times they publish it. In fact you can ask for your letter to be returned, and if they refuse, you can go to court to have it returned. (There will be some balancing of costs here and there, of course).

Kate Graham owned the WarshPost. When she died her fortune passed, more or less, to her one son, Donald Graham.
He's a Vietnam Vet. Seems to have picked up some strange political ideas over there - the kind the "enemy" believed. Maybe he "went over"? No one really knows, but the WarshPost became a regular rah-rah chorus for totalitarians throughout the world when young Don moved into WarshPost management.
The WarshPost, it's employees, it's owners, and even it's truckdrivers cannot be trusted within the context of traditional American values, way of life and principles of government and freedom.

I agree it was "slam dunk." It was also pretty stupid: every other media outlet in town could TELL the Washington Post was being biased because their bigwigs were all THERE and saw that the LEFT had a paltry 8 people or so.

Hmm, I dunno. I like "right under your nose." They always have catching titles. This is a reader's comment forum, not a news forum with a news headline. I think it's OK.

Way to go Kristinn. I'm amazed they published it. Maybe they remember you from that day we defended their building against the peaceful ANSWER crowd. : )

A couple weeks ago, you FReeped Tim Robbins & got press stories about that.
You were great when interviewed shortly thereafter on MSNBC's Scarborough Country.
One week ago Saturday you were co-leader as the DC Chapter FReeped the White House Correspondents' Dinner and handed out Garafalo awards. (Sorry that I couldn't make it.)
A few days later you were magnificant on Fox & Friends discussing the Garofalo award winners.
A few days after that your great letter was published in the WashPost chiding them for their obvious bias.
A day or two later the Garofalo awards are discussed in a WashPost piece that also mentions FR, yet another beneficial result of your vigorous efforts (together with efforts of other FReepers).
At this stage, my awe over your achievements leads me to ask: When do you land on the carrier?
