Governor George Pataki (Republican-New York) is apparently planning to lay the cornerstone of the worlds tallest building [1,776ft.] at Ground Zero during next year's GOP National Convention, an event that President Bush would undoubtedly attend.
World Trade Development Corp. Leaseholder Larry Silverstein: 'He wants to lay the cornerstone of the foundation of the Freedom Tower at the National Convention.'

I hope it is on Thursday night when the ratings are highest and Dubya walks/is driven from Ground Zero to Madison Square Garden to accept the nomination. (compare contrast to Clintons NYC walk)
That would put most of the Dems in a flatline coma..

2004 will NOT be a re-run of 1992, much to their chagrin.
As well to the chagrin of the folks who wish to punish Bush for supposed "sellouts."
There are going to be a lot of Bush-haters who are going to be awfully disappointed come January 2005 as Bush is sworn in for his second term.

Who cares what the rallying cry would be, it gets them off of endlessly whining about the economy!

Yes, there are. It's almost as pathetic as the Democrats hoping the war went badly.

The paleo-cons have been very much like the left. They play class warfare politics like the best Dems ever could, and they are not above using government power for their agenda.

simple...invite the Dem nominee to the event. He'll likely refuse and then say well, the Dem refused to show up to the 9/11 event. Or if he comes, he'll look small in comparison to GW...
