No way. He was not a naval aviator nor carrier landing qualified, and it's probably been about twenty years since he's been at the controls of a warplane. But I do understand that he's in the co-pilot position and will be hands-on during part of the flight.

Pray G*d everything goes alright, but other than FDR, Eisenhower, and Reagan I don't know of any president who's been more loved by the uniformed services and this will only make that feeling stronger. I can't think of anything that inspires more loyalty than a commander who's willing to put his own a** on the line with his troops. That's been true from Alexander to Caesar to Napoleon to Patton.
