This was just a great shot on Fox.

Air Force One leaving San Diego, and the background was the Lincoln just pulling in, right in back of the plane, with the sailors all lined up in their whites.

That was just so cool.

Thanks for the info.

I just finished showing my first grade students some of the pictures on this thread.

They love Bush, and the "grapes"!

The loudest laughter came from the picture of Hillary as a bat.

I saw the President's speech this morning on C-Span, as my daughter had a concert last night.

Absoltely outstanding.

I'd follow this guy into hell!

That's what I expect from my Commander in Chief!

Sure , everyone focused on Florida, but if albore had won his "home" state of Tennessee it would have been moot. Florida is just one of many places that deserve credit for us not having a national nightmare on our hands right now. Give us vols some credit too

You're right! You deserve HUGE credit, and I LOVE YOU for saving us from "that man"!

I thought I said that? ;)

the only pilot to shoot down three MiGs in one day during the Vietnam War.

You did, and most appropriately. I wanted to make the point that all of The Duke's kills were missile shots [the first missile ace] and raise the question as to whether any of the Korean War jet aces ever got three [or more] in a single day.

At the time, many of us working against Gore in his home state thought that a poor showing there might have an effect on the later voters on the West coast; we should have known the networks would do all they could to stall and delay the reporting of his embarrassment until the left-coast polls had closed. But the additional result of denying what proved to be the critical electoral votes from Tennessee was certainly a welcome side benefit, and the humiliation of losing in his home state, his home county and his home precinct does not help Gore's chances for a future comeback, either.

But though it was hardly the work of any one individual, there are those who deserve special recognition for their hard work and sacrifice during that period. What they did just may have saved this country from irreparable damage.

I was in handshake range of Reagan---working an "In Concert at the [Western] White House" with Merle Haggard and Beverly Sills. Reagan came within an arm's length of me and I froze, partly out of fear the SS agents would shoot me if I made a sudden move!! I've always regretted that.

I saw President Ford come out of our University Center a number of years ago.

I shouted, "Good Afternoon Mr. President!"

He stopped, and looked in my direction and said, "Who said that?"

Uh-oh... I thought... "I did!" I shouted back. He broke off his trail to the car, with Secret Service in tow, came over to me, and said, "Good afternoon to you!"

We chatted for a few minutes about the great State of Wisconsin, and then he headed back to the limo, and then drove off.

I don't know who was more stunned... me or the Secret Service.

All in all it was fun.

Fresh from a whirlwind tour of Silicon Valley, which included an historic landing on board the USS Abraham Lincoln, President Bush is seen coming home on board AIR FORCE ONE.

Yes, thanks. Tough grading passes from your desktop PC and using RealPlayer...

Sorry - didn't return to the live thread to answer your response re: what were the other planes that landed before the President's plane - others have probably answered that question. Just telling you also - how wonderful that your daughter's squadron is involved in yesterday's historic moment! I hope she got good pictures and hope she and all her team were able to see the events that will be forever ingrained in the minds and hearts of those who witnessed them either first hand or by television. What a crime (another in a long line) that ABCCBSNBC failed to broadcast the President's landing on the carrier and the afterward embraces and pictures with the crew there. So spectacularly beautiful - words simply do not do it justice.

Cute! That's right - don't mess with Texas, the USA, or this President! That speech last night was so awesome - almost as awesome as the President's Carrier landing....only the truly defiled souls of those who have closed their minds to beauty could not enjoy the events of yesterday.

I had an opportunity to revisit the tape of Cunningham's comments and the exact quote was "I'd fly this President's wing into Hell and know he'd me back."

Press laughed derisively at first like Duke was joking but - Duke doesn't joke about that kind of thing.

Cunningham had another great line. Press said something like "The S-3 Vikings is a more sophisticated plane than the F-102 the President flew?" Duke goes "The F-102 couldn't shoot down a Goodyear Blimp, Bill."

A Naval aviator is physically and emotionally incapable of bypassing an opportunity to rip the Air Force.

oops ... "know he'd get me back" ... Duke also said "President Bush may have had his hands on the controls, but I'll guarantee that the Captain had control of the aircraft."

LOL! I had to rely on the PLAT. I'd wager the boss graded it an OK! But then, he does not know that a 4 wire is an automatic disqualifier for an OK!

When/where were you an LSO?

I qualified as an LSO aboard USS Kearsarge (CVS-33) 1966-1968 and was the RVAW 110 LSO from 1968-1970. I also did a lot of waving in USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) 1970-1972, even though I was the Hangar Deck Officer.

For the record... I read this entire thread. The fact that I have a life, job, 4 kids made it take a few days but I got it done.

In conclusion, I am gratified to see people here who elevate substance above emotion, fact above imagination, and gratitiude above selfishness.

O yeah, Bush is cool. Aren't we lucky!
