Secret Service....isn't the whole ship a floating Secret Service place....LOL (not really, but almost.) Pretty much. At least in the "old days" we all got a periodic "protection of the President" briefing. Still watching the post speech feed the real SS guys seem about as uptight as they ever get. One guy, with a shaved head, did crack a smile at some remark by one of the sailors, or maybe something over his radio/earpiece.

What all of us wouldn't give to be a sailor today on the ABE! CNN CSPAN ALPHABETNETWORKS just don't understand. We want to be part of this winning team....Not nitpick it!

What a great day...I can't stop smiling ;^)
I couldn't tear myself away from the TV to get on here. Seeing the affection our military has for our President and the affection he has for them. Always a very warm handshake, thousands of them today ;)

LOL! You are on a roll tonight! The Fox reporter Jon Scott is talking to the troops below decks. Several of the sailors told him that they really like President Bush, and that they liked the fact that he is a man of action. And they said that Clinton just talked and never did anything. Scott said the disgust for Clinton was very evident.

I just heard them talking about how "CLINTON TALKED TOUGH, BUT HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WHEN THE EMBASSIES GOT BOMBED, THE SHIPS GOT BOMBED. GW .... YOU DON'T MESS WITH."
To: Anamensis
Think of other peoples when their leaders are out amongst them, the jumping up and down, the screaming and wild waving and near hysteria. I know this is the military but I don't think it's just that, but look how we are. People stand quietly, patiently, but with big smiles. We as a culture are really much more restrained than some other cultures, I think. I don't know about that. I think it's because Americans are sensitive to the presence of the Secret Service, and therefore are more careful about appearing too hysterical. When the Pope comes to visit or a pop star makes a public appearance you see plenty of hysteria in American crowds.

(The most hated lair on FR) Is that lair as in lions' lair or lair as in lian (liar past tense)?
To: Anamensis
Years from now these troops will be telling their grandkids they were there and shook President Bush's hand!

Fox is saying if they're no WMD found soon, Bush will have a lot to answer for.O"Reilly has the same spiel going continuously. It's stupidity, pure and simple. Whetehr they find stocks of VX, et al, or not is simply moot. They had the technology, they had the precursors and they had the will. Now they have none.
Long live conservative Presidents with cojones!
