A Marine Comes Home: Fallen warriors remind us why whiny celebs are irrelevant

The battle of Iraq may be over but the warriors for peace struggle on. Theirs is not an easy road, particularly, we hear, in the entertainment industry, which is packed with notables fresh from their vocal campaign against the war, the president, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney--objects of scorn in all the best circles, from Paris to California.

What is really sad is that these fine young men died so worthless crap like the Hollywood celebs can go around trashing all we hold dear.

People aren't really boycotting them, they've just discovered that they are so ugly on the inside that it has bled out to their outside. You can't look at them anymore without seeing just how ugly they are.

Goodmorning....IMO, you hit it the nail the head, life is too short & precious to waste time on the "ugly" celebs, politicos, and other assorted fools and evil doers...they will be outed eventually and their irrelevance will be manifest to all persons in all lands!

The article talks about real courage and real sacrifice...unlike the fake "courage" of speaking out against one's country in a foreign land.

For years Hollywood celebs not only didn't pay any price for their obnoxious leftism, the more obnoxious they were the more REWARDED they were by fellow liberal film and casting directors. Now those same directors have to contend with their customers.

May God bless our troops and heal the painful wounds in the hearts of the families of the fallen.

I have to admit, I was teary eyed when I read this article this morning. That has happened when I've read other articles too. The ultimate sacrifice for these snot-nosed celebs to be able to spit on this Marine.

People got a powerfully close look at their fellow Americans in uniform these last weeks. This is what impels them now to stand at roadsides in tribute, heedless of where else they had to go. And this is why strangers flock to funerals.

At funerals across America for the past few weeks, strangers have lined the roads. One of the earliest funerals occurred in Baltimore. The church overflowed with mourners for a marine who left parents, a wife and a ten-year-old son. Our local rag covered the death and funeral with an anti-war slant, if you can imagine that.

The only reason that I know about Baltimoreans lining the roads to honor him and his service is because I was told first-hand about them. I am glad that during that sad funeral procession, his son would have seen the respect that his father's sacrifice received from strangers. He would never have learned of the honor to his father from the 'old media.'

Thank you, Mo for calling attention to this thread. It means a lot. So many young soldiers came home from Southeast Asia to be greeted with indifference, disrespect or even hatred. Thank God that time has passed and that most Americans now understand and appreciate the sacrifices made to keep them free.

just a ping in case you haven't seen this excellent piece by Pulitzer-Prize winner
Dorothy Rabinowitz.

Radio show host Dennis Prager is doing an excellent "compare and contrast"
of this article with the drivel that embittered writer Norman Mailer recently had
in The Times of London (his article in which he posits that the war against
Saddam was done to satisfy white male egos...whatta' jerk!)
