MEXICO CITY -- Former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday the United States needs to involve more countries in rebuilding Iraq and that the United Nations should not be weakened in the process.
Clinton spoke at a political conference in Mexico City, where he also met with President Vicente Fox at the presidential residence.
"What's done is done," Clinton said, referring to the war in Iraq.
"We cannot let this be a precedent for weakening the U.N.," he said. "We have to have honest inspections for chemical and biological weapons, and we need to have a sensible attempt to involve the world in building a democratic Iraq."
Clinton also said a key postwar step would be to restart peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
The world "can only hope and pray that President Bush is right, and that it (Iraq) will him extra leverage in resolving the conflict," he said.
"It's only a question of how many people they are willing to see die before they reach the inevitable agreement," he added, "but it will come."
Clinton was in the Mexico capital to participate in "21st Century Mexico" a political and economic forum presented by Mexico's dominant telecommunications company, Telefonos de Mexico, or Telmex.

"We cannot let this be a precedent for weakening the U.N.," he said. The U.N. has already been revealed as charlatans and destroyed by the Coalition action in Iraq. Talk of precedents is whistling past the graveyard.

You took the words right out of my mouth. When will this low-class gas bag run out of crap to spew? He never shuts up. Some people have no shame. He deserves to be married to his rotten psychotic wife. That's perfect punishment for him. Licking her dog manure encrusted boots for life.

LOL! How I'd love to see him SHRIVEL!
But seriously, is this guy ever going to go away? He seems to think he's running some kind of shadow government.
Don't we have laws against that kind of thing? Or couldn't somebody at least make it clear to losers like Mexico that speaking to losers like Bill is going to get them exactly nothing?

"We cannot let this be a precedent for weakening the U.N.," he saidThis isn't a precedent. It was already weak thru corruption. Maybe we could send the UN headquarters to Cuba. Cuba is on the UN Human rights council. They could all feel good together with Castro.

"Former President Bill Clinton said Wednesday the United States needs to involve more countries in rebuilding Iraq and that the United Nations should not be weakened in the process." An example of what a poor citizen clinton is. How UN-American can Bill get? How unstatesman-like! He should have his citizenship removed. Put him on a boat and make him the "Man Without A Country". Let him have the disgraced UN!

The rapist should be soundly condemned by our media for continuing to interfer with foreign policy. I would hope that even regular democrats across the country would be getting a little angry about his big mouth. His intentions are obvious to anyone with a brain.

someday clinton will die, then he will shut up, but not before. He don't have the brains to shut up....he's too convinced that people want to know what he thinks.....when he stops talking, he stops listening

I think he is trying to get a Nobel Peace Prize like Jimmuh. Just bitch, moan about, and sabotage the efforts of a current U.S. President long enough and you too can get a pity peace prize.
